[edit] Welcome to StrategyWiki
Welcome to StrategyWiki JYM. Old as dirt games are perfectly alright. Just look at my page if you want to see old ^_^ Have fun and let us know if we can be of any help. Procyon 20:55, 9 October 2006 (CDT)
Nice: that's whole decade older than the dirt I've been burrowing in!
Might take a while for me to get the basics: as much as I like wikis, I'm not an expert. I'll figure it out, though. --JYM 09:36, 10 October 2006 (CDT)
- One good rule of thumb is, if you see something that you like, STEAL IT! Seriously, look at how a few guides are done, and if you see some formatting style or something that you'd like to immitate, just click Edit and see how it was done. Then copy and paste it to your guide and make the appropriate changes. That's how I learned 90% of what I know. Another good source of help is the editing help pages on Wikipedia itself, like Help:Table. Those sites are where I got the other 10% from ;) Procyon 09:49, 10 October 2006 (CDT)
- And if you are really stuck, post on StrategyWiki:Staff lounge and someone will be happy to help. -- Prod 10:20, 10 October 2006 (CDT)
- First thing I did ;) --JYM 18:47, 10 October 2006 (CDT)
- When creating new pages, try to give them proper names rather than acronyms. For example, if they are called CHI in the game, make the page Command & Conquer: Generals/CHI, otherwise, name it Command & Conquer: Generals/China. It looks better, and is far more descriptive. There is no real limit to the length of these links. -- Prod (Talk) 10:26, 24 January 2007 (CST)
