Hello Maddbomber83! Welcome to StrategyWiki. Thank you for your contributions. If you have any questions, just contact a sysop through their talk page or post on the staff lounge, and they'd be happy to help. If you need help editing, check the StrategyWiki Guide or ask a sysop, we're usually around. On the other hand, if you have ideas for StrategyWiki, bring them up on the forums. To keep up-to-date with the goings on of the wiki, consider adding the noticeboard to your watchlist.

Image uploads[edit]

Please see our policy on image naming and categorization. For consistency and ease of use throughout the wiki, image names should contain the name of the game or its abbreviation and a one or two word description. All images also need the appropriate categories added, as well as the guide-specific image category (e.g. ). Thanks for helping to keep our images neat! — Procyon 18:47, 19 November 2014 (UTC)

I have to delete the files you uploaded. Please re-upload them with proper names, and add categories to them when you upload them. It is entirely unclear what game those images are for. Thanks very much for your help. Procyon 18:47, 19 November 2014 (UTC)
Sorry for the delayed response. That upload is perfect. Optionally, you could add if those captures represent the entire screen, but it's not completely necessary, especially if they are cropped. Thanks again for your help, it's very much appreciated. Procyon 21:06, 19 November 2014 (UTC)

Pre-load buttons[edit]

The pre-load buttons.

In order to keep pages on the wiki neat and uniform, we employ certain formatting and templates to help us accomplish this. When creating a new page, please use one of the pre-load buttons located above the edit text box (e.g. click on "Guide page" to add Header Nav to the top and Footer Nav to the bottom), which will insert the needed templates and formatting for you. These templates are very handy because they include the templates that are required for each page type. If you are unsure about how to use them, or what pages to use them on, please let me know. Thanks for keeping the wiki organized! — Procyon 21:14, 19 November 2014 (UTC)

Sorry, one final note. Keep the names between a page and it's listing in the Table of Contents consistent. Descriptive page names are preferred over short ambiguous names. I moved your page from Dawn of Fantasy/chat to Dawn of Fantasy/Chat Interface since that's what you called it in the Table of Contents. I also added the Header and Footer navs for you. If you have any questions, we're happy to help. Procyon 21:14, 19 November 2014 (UTC)

Nice job[edit]

Hi Maddbomber83. The Vassal Interface page looks great, thanks so much for putting such hard work into it. This is just a personal suggestion, and not a site standard, but I would try resizing those larger images a bit. You don't have to reupload them, you can size them dynamically right in the wiki text. For example, would result in an image that's only 300 pixels wide, like so:

Dawn of Fantasy Vassal Mercenaries Market.jpg

Obviously, you don't have to use 300, that was just an example. But like I said, it's just a personal preference, you're free to ignore it if you'd rather not do it. It just might help the table be a bit more readable. Keep up the great work. Procyon 02:57, 27 November 2014 (UTC)

Our best newer guides tend to have large images, but it all depends on how the page is formatted and how important showing them off is. For example, a large area map makes sense, whereas a large enemy sprite does not. A large screenshot that is centered and explained thoroughly can be ok in some cases. Smaller images are best for a series of visual explanations, like a gallery. Those tend to be 250px wide (which can fit three images side by side). See Mega Man X/Flame Mammoth#Flame_Mammoth for an example. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 19:10, 11 December 2014 (UTC)
