P.S: If you want to top off the controls page, you should use the control templates. Take a look at Twilight Princess' Controls and nab the code there to make it look better. --Arrow Windwhistler (talk) 23:40, 15 January 2010 (UTC)

Images

Hey, thanks for uploading that image and putting an image category on it! I've also added Category:The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks images to it so all Spirit Tracks images are grouped together. Thanks for contributing! :) — najzereT 21:25, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi, Image:LoZ-ST Forest Sanctuary.jpg is too low quality for the wiki. Is there any way you can make this map in a graphics program or find a cleaner screenshot? — najzereT 21:49, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

Control selector

Hi, I put the {{control selector}} and {{control}} usages back into The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time/Ocarina Songs. Please don't remove the control selector functionality from pages; it provides an easy way for users to switch to the controls they use for their platform. If it's not working for you, enable JavaScript in your browser or allow the site if it's currently blocked. Thanks, — najzereT 20:06, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Collaboration of the Month

Hi, Spirit Tracks is currently on the nomination list for Collaboration of the Month. Just wanted to alert you, in case you didn't know about the page. If it's selected, you may get some additional help with the great job you're doing on the guide. Cheers, :) — najzereT 22:30, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

Thanks!

Spirit Tracks maps

Hey, just wanted to let you know that I have everything from the images saved on different layers, so if you wanted to switch anything out, such as different icons or background or something, it would be doable. Also, we could make image maps out of them so clicking an icon on the map would take a reader to the appropriate section. Just some thoughts. Let me know if you want to change anything! :) — najzereT 20:24, 9 February 2010 (UTC)

That's (image maps) a very good idea. Especially with the Spirit Tracks guide, where some place names can be very different, just clicking on the area where you want to find information for can be much easier than looking for a place name and possibly getting thrown off by another region's names. They're used on sites like Zelda Wiki, and it's much clearer than searching for a place name (that, for me, isn't there because they use only American names). It can't do any damage to try it, at least, and I think it could work well. --Moydow 09:00, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
ps. Perhaps, if we're going to use a map for the Force Gems page, would it be possible to point out both where to find them and what tracks they reveal, or would that clutter the map? --Moydow 11:51, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
That's how I was planning on doing it anyway, so I think it would be okay. Are the positions of the force gem locations on this map accurate? Also, should the force gem icon be yellow, green, or does it depend on the specific gem? — najzereT 16:37, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
What you have there shows the locations of which section of tracks each force gem (yellow triangles) reveals. They are all correct. All Force Gems are usually shown with yellow triangles, as with their in-game appearance, and Warp Gates are green triangles on this map, but are generally shown with paired symbols (# at the centre of the Forest Land links to # in the south of the Snow Land, for example). --Moydow 17:00, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

My mistake

I didn't mean to cause trouble. I'm a bit of a perfectionist; it's the little mistakes that get to me. If I see one, I'll pretend it's not there until I can make a bigger edit. --|Superpowered Mario 20:17, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Talk page messages

Hi, you should peruse Category:Message templates when you get a chance, as a lot of the things we find ourselves saying over and over have been templated to make it easier on you. Thanks for helping keep new users informed! — najzereT

MultipleUpload

It's an extension we used to have, but the recent versions have been buggy. I'll suggest to either comment it out, or just leave it for now. Hopefully we can re-enable it during the next patch. -- Prod (Talk) 03:34, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

VF Remix

There are some differences in the moves and the character portraits are different. I was thinking of morphing Virtua Fighter PC with Remix though, and make a different moves page for both Remix and PC. --E-123Wario54 23:49, 31 March 2010 (UTC)

"Seen 364, Caught 279"

In your About Me, in the "Records and other stuff" section, you list your Pokédex record to be Seen 364, Caught 279. What version did you accomplish this in? :D -- Imjon 13:01, 18 April 2010 (UTC)

Pokémon Diamond. I've also got Ruby, Platinum and HeartGold, so that record is really the combined result of all four versions. It would be virtually impossible for me to catch all 493, with the lack of Events in this country :( so my goal is to just try and complete the Sinnoh Pokédex (150/113 and counting). :)

Luigi's Mansion maps

Got the first floor one done, see here. I'm hoping to get the other floors done soon-ish. --Skizzerz 06:30, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

K, see here for floor 1, floor 2, floor 3, roof, and basement. All information on the maps should be accurate, including relative location of blue ghosts (aka speedy spirits) and cheeses in regards to the room. Speedy Spirits that must be caught during blackout are marked as such. Let me know if you notice anything that's off. --Skizzerz 03:31, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Floor 2's been updated, sorry for the delay. --Skizzerz 20:50, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

Editing Charts

MapleStory/Patches I really don't understand how to edit the charts on these pages. All they lead to is links when ever I go into edit mode. Can you teach me how?--Zienth 22:13, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

Ah. I understand it now. Another question, there was a major update in the Korean MS Test Server and I want to be able to display those changes without disrupting the current show of skills. My idea is to use the Template for MapleStory/Skill desc being {{MapleStory/Skill desc||}} to separate the the current skills tables from the new ones. What do you think should be done? --Zienth 22:49, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
Alright. Thanks for you help anyways.--Zienth 23:27, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

Zelda Redirects

I don't think the 2010 one is much of a problem. Even though it's not perfectly accurate, it's not ambiguous. For the Wii one, perhaps redirect it to the category instead. -- Prod (Talk) 19:04, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Crash Course

I started editing here, to fulfill the partnership aspect between WiKirby and Strategy Wiki. Viewing the two pages I worked on, I see a link "Walkthrough" Could you explain what the differences between the area articles and the walkthrough are meant to be? I'm going to work on the subgame articles next. Well off the top of my head while my DS recharges...But I would appreciate any guidance until I get it down pat. Also thanks again for your work on WiKirby. Axiomist 23:50, 10 July 2010 (UTC)

Mario Tennis.

Thanks. Have you checked the Wii category yet? I can easily find through search, or the N64 category or a link from Mario Power Tennis, or if there's a section called "Wii Virtual Console" which should be on the Wii category above the games list? I suppose from now on that Mario Tennis doesn't exist on "Wii" but in "Wii Virtual Console". I don't mind if you're busy but you might want to double check to be sure that Mario Tennis does exist in N64 and "Wii Virtual Console". I can't express my feelings but I shouldn't be upset about this. You might not understand but I don't want to go to great lengths to find Mario Tennis. Johnnyauau2000 07:04, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

Blocking for inappropriate user name

Make sure to uncheck "Prevent account creation" and "Automatically block the last IP address..." when you block for inappropriate user name, so the editor still has the ability to choose another one. — najzereT 20:59, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

Question from Shoop

Do we delete user pages? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Shoop (talkcontribs) .

Generally, no. Not unless the user in question has a very good reason for requesting its deletion, the user page was created by a vandal, or it contains highly offensive material. Moydow T · C 16:02, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

Another question from Shoop

How do I become an administrator? If you tell me, than also tell me how do I do the step to become an administraitors. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Shoop (talkcontribs) .

There isn't a specific way to become an administrator. You have to be consistent and a trusted member who contributes a lot to the site. And remember to sign your comments with the four tildes. --E-123Wario54The Temple of TalkFFI black mage (8-bit).gif 21:14, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
Correct. Only a user who makes the best quality of edits, and shows that they have a good, clear understanding of the site's policies, will be considered for a nomination for administrator. Moydow T · C 21:48, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

Monster Images

Hi, I play maplestory, I was wondering, if, for all the individual locations, I could add an image of the monster next to it's name,

I have already done so for Rien, Ereve, and Altaire Camp, Hoping that this doesn't change the layout of the pages.

I thought this might of been an idea to go with, particually for those who just want to see what the monster looks like without having to load up a whole page to find the monster they are looking for.

Thanks-rubberband

I don't play MapleStory. MMOs like that are incredibly unpopular over here (perhaps due to the lack of decent broadband outside Germany). But personally, I would say that it would be okay as long as it doesn't disrupt the flow and readability of the page. Moydow T · C 17:19, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

MONSTER CATERGORY

Sorry, I'll start doing so from now on, thankyou I have to go to school now, I'll make sure there right when i get home.

autoconfirmed users

What can autoconfirmed users do? Shoop 13:51, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Edit pages that are semi-protected; ie. those that anonymous or newly-registered users cannot. Also, please sign your posts on talk pages properly. Stop using the {{unsigned}} template. Just forget about it. Use four tildes (~~~~) in place of it. Moydow T · C 14:23, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

just had a question

hey moydow, just had a question. i just clicked that signature button thing... and i dont think it really does anything. all i c on my page r a few wierd symbols, and is this the normal way im supposed to talk to someone? i just joined yesterday so im not that experienced.

i was also wondering how do u edit pages? like on the maplestory game there was a builds and formulas page and i just left a message asking someone to split it into 2 seperate pages. they did what i asked but id like to know how i would do that in the future. Last thing, how do u make those content bars with all the quick links to the different parts of the screen? thank you --David11563 18:14, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

The signature button creates four tildes (~~~~), which automatically adds your username and the time you saved the page at, once you click 'Save page'. This is the page on which you talk to another user, but please try to use correct sentence form, grammar, and spelling. Not every user understands text-message shorthand (I have only limited knowledge of it myself). If you have notes regarding editing the page, click the 'Discussion' link in the Toolbox to the right, and leave your message there. Don't put it on the actual page. To edit the page, click the 'Edit' tab at the top of the page, or to the right of the section headings. Please try to make use of 'Show preview' to make as few edits as possible, and make sure what you're doing is working out. Tables of Content appear automatically when a page has more than three sections. Also, when starting a new page, begin by clicking 'Guide page' (just above the editing box). This adds the {{Header Nav}} and {{Footer Nav}} that must appear on every guide page. Look at the StrategyWiki:Guide, and that should answer any more questions you have in detail, but I can help if you find something difficult. Moydow T · C 19:34, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

me again... another question about editing...

Id like to do something with the skill section for big bang in maplestory. If you've visited the skill section of the normal maplestory you'll notice that its broken up into several different pages based on the different jobs, if like to do the same thing to the big bang skill list. The big bang skill page has reached a critical mass of 900 kb... its a fkin big page!

Id like to break it down like the other skill page, and as i said before im new here, and im not really sure how i would do that.

I know i have to add another page and then copy paste the info in the seperate pages but i cnat manage to start that process. I look at the top of the edit page and i have no idea how to edit the links... its a real puzzle to me... if you could give me some info, or a guide page, or simply do it urself, id appreciate it. Thanks for reading, --David11563 19:34, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

A few other things first: only sign posts at the end of your message. At the end, leave a space, and click the signature button. Don't go to a new line, or put several spaces in order to push the signature to the right of the page, since it clutters the page. Second, page titles must use sentence case except in the case of proper nouns (places, chapter names as they appear in-game, etc). Now, I've never played MapleStory, and I've never read the MapleStory guide much, except when I need to revert vandalism or fix minor errors other users have made. To split via copy-paste, open the page that contains the info, then open the page you want to create in a new tab. Search for it, then click 'Create this page' on the search result screen. Other than that, the best I can do for you is to advise you to ask someone who is more familiar with MapleStory; two particularly well-versed users would be Imjon or Zienth, but make sure to leave the messages on their user talk pages. You may also get information about making edits from the StrategyWiki:Guide. Sorry I can't be of more help. Moydow T · C 20:07, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

before u go editing anything on that maplestory page!

just wanted to let you know, i have the bottom link (the link to previous and next page at the bottom of the screen) set up so that u can access all of the sub section pages

at the moment im making a bunch of other pages (sub sections) that will replace the big bang skills page. So far im done with the resistance... ill get through all of them, then ill need some help with the shortcut at the top of the page, thanks for ur time --David11563 19:55, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

still editing

well im still editing... this is borring...

So far ive did resistance, legends, cygnus, pirates, thieves, and bowmen, still have to magicians and warriors

once again, they are all accessed through (big bang)>(skills)>then at the bottom of the builds page theres a link to "previous page" that will take u to the resistance.

At the bottom of the resistance previous page button it will take u to legends, and so on.

Please help me out on the link that goes at the top of the page, that was a real pain doing all that. --David11563 20:59, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

finished editing

i'm not sure who separated the big bang skills into the 4 different sections, but if it was you then thank you. I finished dividing up the skills from the original page into the four sections so that first page is now unnecessary. I haven't put up a nav. bar at the top of the page (still don't know how), and the nav bar at the bottom of the page is incorrect (had to put one up to move from page to page easier) so that still needs work... talk to you later --David11563 20:51, 16 August 2010 (UTC)

P.S. - I put the signature right after the writing :)

sorry about that

sorry i wrote that...this is my first time making a page. didn't mean to create any spam.

the truth is, i don't know that much about pokemon black and white. i downloaded the rom and only got as far as what I've wrote. plus the rom is in japanese, so i have to go by what I see. I'm pretty sure what i wrote is accurate though, since that's what I got from watching the scenes. Metsfan189Metsfan189 18:54, 20 September 2010 (CDT)

Don't worry too much about it. It's fixed up now. I'll fix anything else I find. Moydow T · C 18:59, 20 September 2010 (CDT)

Also, I was just wondering, how do you create a user page? Which template should you use?Metsfan189 19:05, 20 September 2010 (CDT)

You don't need to use one on a user page. Userpages are different from guide pages. Just use the templates where they say you should use them. For your user page, just start editing. Moydow T · C 19:11, 20 September 2010 (CDT)

lol

Hah, thanks for catching my typo man :) I appreciate it. Welcome back! How do you like the site performance so far? Procyon 10:53, 21 September 2010 (CDT)

No problem. Good to be back :) The site certainly seems a lot faster than before, I must say. It's worth the wait. I haven't noticed any bugs other than a couple that have appeared on other sites (such as amp; instead of & appearing in page titles) and Special:TwitterUpdate doesn't seem to work. Apart from that, all is well. Moydow T · C 13:00, 21 September 2010 (CDT)

Table Help

Hey I'm working on DBZ: Buu's Fury (Good God) and i was wondering who i would get in touch with to make a somewhat simple table for the items and equipment? I'm not that good at creating tables. Thanks in advance. KimbleTHEcommie 03:53, 25 September 2010 (CDT)

It depends on the purpose of the tables. If you want to tabulate the entire list of equipment and items, I wouldn't recommend it, since these pages should also describe the items and their effects. Moydow T · C 04:23, 25 September 2010 (CDT)
Well I'm trying to incorporate a pic the description(which is short), Stats and required level for it well also the name not too much but the page is extremely long so i was thinking a table would shorten it. KimbleTHEcommie 04:27, 26 September 2010 (CDT)
OK. If you add the stats, description, etc. to one piece of equipment, I'll see what I can do with it. Moydow T · C 09:13, 26 September 2010 (CDT)
Ok it's up everything except the picture. thanks. KimbleTHEcommie 14:15, 26 September 2010 (CDT)
Check the page to see what I've done. A sortable table that includes everything, but eliminates headers. If you want, you can keep the headers, and take the item names out of the table. If not, just continue the table. Your choice. Moydow T · C 14:44, 26 September 2010 (CDT)
Thank you for all your help. KimbleTHEcommie 16:42, 26 September 2010 (CDT)

NIWA

Hi there. Archaic mentioned this at the NIWA forum, so I thought I'd take the initiative; are you guys planning on adding a NIWA bar to the Main Page, like we have at the other NIWA member wikis? I made a quick mockup (here) based on what's become the "standard" across the other wikis; maybe you could bring it up with the other staff and discuss if that's how you'd like to do it? Adamcox82 05:47, 16 October 2010 (CDT)

I've mentioned it on the forums; hopefully someone will reply there, or I can point the staff toward it. Moydow T · C 06:52, 16 October 2010 (CDT)

Staff meeting

Hey Moydow. Prod is not online, and I wanted to let someone else know that I can't make the meeting today. I'm attending a volunteer fund raiser, and I'm heading out soon. Please extend my apologies to everyone. Thanks. Procyon 10:15, 30 October 2010 (CDT)

That's OK, I'll let them know. Hope to see you there next time. Moydow T · C 10:24, 30 October 2010 (CDT)
Well, Prod wasn't there either, so there was no meeting today. Moydow T · C 15:52, 30 October 2010 (CDT)

Hi Moydow. Unfortunately, this is going to be another bad month for Prod and I. I will be travelling back to Baltimore from Dallas today, and I believe Prod is out hunting for apartments. He and I should have put our heads together and rescheduled the meetings, and in all likelihood, that is what we will do. If you happen to be online to see who is there, feel free to gather some ideas for the next community meeting. Hopefully we will choose a better date because I highly doubt that the last weekend in December will really be good for anybody. Thanks! Procyon 11:58, 27 November 2010 (CST)

Yeah, I don't think Christmas Day is a good time for a meeting either. Though Prod did actually make it today, so there was something of an informal discussion. Moydow T · C 20:21, 27 November 2010 (CST)

"Image:OR Dr. Kubota.gif" has been marked for deletion...

...as I have replaced it with the screenshot "Image:OR Dr. Kubota's Machine.png". I have also requested "Image:OR Kiwi R2.gif", "Image:OR Kiwi Base R2.gif" and "Image:OR Fire Turtle.png" to be renamed to "Image:OR Kiwi R2&7.gif", "Image:OR Kiwi Base R2&7.gif" and "Image:OR Fire Tortoise.png" respectively. You may also have noticed that I have marked Ordyne/Tips for deletion as well, on account of the fact that I had merged its content with the renamed Getting Started page yesterday. Namcorules 13:31, 31 October 2010 (CDT)

Thank you for the welcome!

Thank you very much for the welcoming you gave. This is not my first Wiki page I have worked on, as I am a Computer/LAN technician for the US Army and I have had to make several from scratch for various training networks I have built. This is however my first time creating a game guide, and the method of editing this particular site seems wonky to me. That is not a complaint about the site, just an acknowledgment that it is new to me.

I do have one question up front for you. I was reading some of the help pages, and also researching on what is normally expected here. One of the things I saw, and cannot seem to figure out how to do, is layouts for Table of contents. The example given on Table of contents under Common Layouts is what I am referring to. I know Fallout: New Vegas is going to require me to modify the current layout to make it more aesthetically pleasing to me (OCD here). What I am primarily questioning, is if you can point me to a couple of guides that demonstrate each of the examples given, so I can look under the hood and see how it ticks.

Thank you again.

Between Procyon and Prod, I was able to figure out what I wanted to do. Just wanted to let you know.--Cypherwulfe 04:20, 2 November 2010 (CDT)

That's ok. I got called out around when you posted your first message, and had no time to reply, but at least you got what you needed. Best of luck. Moydow T · C 06:41, 2 November 2010 (CDT)

Ordyne/Strategies has been marked for deletion...

...as its content has been merged with the individual round pages. Unused redirect Metal Hawk/Elements should also be another page intended for the trash can, and I have requested that "Image:MH Jeto 1.gif", "Image:MH Jeto 2.gif", "Image:MH Eakurafuto.gif", "Image:MH Inparusu.gif", "Image:MH Jipu.gif" and "Image:MH Basu.gif" be renamed to the properly-romanized "Image:MH Jet 1.gif", "Image:MH Jet 2.gif", "Image:MH Aircraft.gif", "Image:MH Impulse.gif", "Image:MH Jeep.gif" and "Image:MH Bus.gif" respectively. Done Moydow T · C 11:17, 7 November 2010 (CST)

I see you have deleted the "unnecessary redirect" of Metal Hawk/Canal Zone...

...so I felt I should inform you of the other one I created yesterday, Metal Hawk/The First Point (which redirects to Metal Hawk/Area H-3). Metal Hawk/Tips has also been marked for deletion as its content has been merged with the main Walkthrough page, and I will also be marking the Metal Hawk/Strategies page for deletion once I have merged its content with the individual area pages. PS:

I would love it if you included Pikmin Fanon on the NIWA template. Peanut64

No worries. I think the main reason you weren't originally added is because fanon falls considerably outside of our scope. But you're added now. Moydow T · C 12:12, 27 December 2010 (CST)

Mirai Ninja/Strategies and Mirai Ninja/Tips have been marked for deletion...

...as they have been merged with the Walkthrough page I have recently created. I have also marked the following images for deletion: "Image:MN Inari.gif", "Image:MN Oda Nobunaga.gif", "Image:MN Hideyoshi.gif" and "Image:MN Neko.gif" (for being replaced with "Image:MN Inari.png", "Image:MN Oda Nobunaga.png", "Image:MN Toyotomi Hideyoshi.png" and "Image:MN Nekko.png"), "Image:MN Shurazo.png" (for only being a big statue featured in the sixth stage's background), "Image:MN Kamui.gif" (for actually being the "damsel-in-distress" Princess Saki) and "Image:MN Kumo Yashiki.gif" (for only appearing in the game's ending sequence). Finally, I have requested "Image:MN Hangu Raida.gif" and "Image:MN High Samurai.gif" to be renamed to "Image:MN Han Guraida.gif" and "Image:MN Shikinami Kurosagi.gif" respectively. I'm surprised you didn't notice all of these when you deleted the unused redirect of Mirai Ninja/Elements yesterday! Namcorules 08:50, 18 January 2011 (CST)

Dominions3 page

Hi, the dominions 3 wiki is horribly outdated. A lot of information is missing, and it hasn't been updated for patches in years. dom3 dot servegame dot org slash wiki has a much larger and up to date wiki. But this wiki will not allow me to update the page with a link to that wiki.

This really sucks, as multiplayer players now have the wrong information. And the game already has a large enough learning curve as is. Could you add a link to the uptodate wiki for me? --Soyweiser 18:43, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

Sorry, no can do. All of our walkthrough information should ideally be hosted here on StrategyWiki. Links to other sites containing content that is within our scope, such as the wiki you've mentioned, generally aren't allowed. Have you considered helping update our own content? Moydow T · C 19:12, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
Well, first, it ain't walkthrough information, but more stats, guides and information that isn't in the manual. You cannot have real walkthroughs for non deterministic turn based strategy games. But that is kinda sucky. And I would rather have one up to date wiki with information. The dom3.servegame one is better in that regard as it also includes all the data from the game files. No way, I'm going to add all that information here. Unless you are willing to pay for the time spend doing it, and give access to a backend with a sql database. This one has not been updated in more than two years, the other one is still frequently updated. No use in doing the same work twice. --Soyweiser 19:32, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
Soyweiser, the goal of StrategyWiki is to be one giant inclusive wiki with all the game data for every game out there possible. It's counter to the site's goals to point to other wikis because once we do it for one game, we have to do it for all. You could very easily copy and paste many of the pages that exist on the other wiki. I realize that this potentially splinters the two databases, but this is how we run the site. And everyone here works on the site on a volunteer basis, no one is paid anything. All of the stats, guides and information about the game is welcome on this site. Please consider exporting it here. Thanks. Procyon 20:14, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
Anyone can post links once they're autoconfirmed I believe. http://dom3.servegame.org/wiki/ is down at the moment. We wouldn't be totally against a partnership of some kind, but we can't just say "don't use our site, go somewhere else". As for sql database access, there's really no such thing for mediawiki. The closest is the API for building bots. -- Prod (Talk) 00:03, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

whats the proper format? --Grambling34 11:45, 19 April 2011 (UTC)

Use the "Guide page" button for guide pages. Also, character pages for fighting games have a specific format; take a look at The King of Fighters Orochi Collection/Characters/Benimaru for an example. Basically, put generic story info, etc. on the Game/Characters/Character-name page, and the movelist on Game/Character-name page. --Moydow T · C 12:03, 19 April 2011 (UTC)

With regards to this post on Najzere's talk page, the "Pac-Mania Vandal" has returned!

According to the edit history of Pac-Mania/Getting Started, he has used three more sockpuppet IPs since his second IP, User:76.228.225.174 was blocked for a year in March 2010 for the offending edits; User: 122.52.84.223, User:76.228.226.122, and User:68.225.40.136. He obviously still has not familiarised himself with the promotional flyers, and I do not take his edits lightly given that I was the one who created the guide for the game in the first place! So if you or another admin could please block these IPs for a year or protect the page in question so that only registered users can edit it, I would be most grateful.

By the way, I have marked these images for deletion: "Image:FH Atom.gif", "Image:FH Dia.gif", "Image:FH Dome Cannon.gif", "Image:FH Stone Cannon.gif", "Image:FH Robot Cannon.gif", "Image:FH Raito.gif", "Image:FH Mini Cannon 1.gif", "Image:FH Mini Cannon 2.gif", "Image:FH Mini Cannon 3.gif" and "Image:FH Tank.gif" given that the enemies that are depicted in them have not actually appeared in the Japan-only game of Finest Hour. Namcorules 16:16, 15 July 2011 (UTC)

Procyon's had his say on the Pac-Mania edits, and I have to say I agree with him. I will, however, keep a close eye on any edits to the Pac-Mania guide for similar edits in future. Also, the images have been deleted. --Moydow T · C 18:21, 15 July 2011 (UTC)

hello

maybe you can help me with my strategy guide stubs? Thanks --Passiondragon23 15:02, 15 August 2011 (UTC)

As Procyon mentioned, a good place to begin would be by adding at least box artwork to a new guide's main page, and a short description of the game (both can easily be found on the game's corresponding page on Wikipedia, providing that correct attribution is provided). Also, actual guide pages need a lot more detail than nav templates and a one-line description of the area that part of the game is set in. --Moydow T · C 15:31, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

A total of sixteen Dangerous Seed-related images need renaming...

...and their old names are as follows: "DR Enormous Derota.gif", "DR Derota2.gif", "DR Orca.gif", "DR Monsterhead.gif", "DR Cicada.gif", "DR Medusa.gif", "DR American Crawfish.gif", "DR Enormous Disaster Serpent.gif", "DR Dial2.gif", "DR Channel.gif", "DR Guhu.gif", "DR Ultimatetiger.gif", "DR Looper.gif", "DR Buffalo.gif", "DR Bagworm.gif", and "DR Monstermouth.gif". I have requested that they be renamed to "DR Derota (S6J).gif", "DR Derota (S6S).gif", "DR Oruka.gif", "DR Monster-Head.gif", "DR Semi.gif", "DR Big Kurage.gif", "DR American Zarigani.gif", "DR Enormous Hebi.gif", "DR Daiyaru (S7N).gif", "DR Chaneru .gif", "DR Gufu.gif", "DR Ultimate-Tiger.gif", "DR Disaster Looper.gif", "DR Bafaro.gif", "DR Mino Worm. gif", and "DR Monster-Mouth.gif". Also, I have requested that both "DR Gear.gif" and "DR Medusa Egg.gif" be deleted given that one is actually the top of a Hasami, and the other is the larval stage Big Kurage. FYI

There's no need to delete old image versions if there's no copyright issue or oversight problem. It doesn't save any space (the file is still on the server since it can be undeleted), but it stops editors from reverting to a prior version if needed. Just wanted to mention it, in case you thought it was a maintenance task or something, since I've seen this a couple times now. Cheers, — najzereT 15:18, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

Final Fantasy Tactics

Hello!! My (user)name is drkelflord and i would like your help with something.

You see, after touring this site and subsequently joining, I realized that the Final Fantasy Tactics page has a great deal of pages that are simply gone or missing(or never there)and i would like to rectify that. If you or anyone else could help me with this i would be greatly apreciative

thank you for your time, sincerly--Drkelflord 19:47, 12 March 2012 (UTC)

Sorry, but I won't be able to contribute to the guide, since I've never played that game. I can only advise you to take into account the messages I or other admins leave on your talk page, and also to look through the help guide for information on other aspects of contributing to StrategyWiki, such as uploading images. I would also like to mention that you should not post the same message on any more than one administrator's talk page at a time. I assure you, if any of the admins had content to contribute on Final Fantasy Tactics, they would likely have done so before, and certainly without needing prompting by other users. Thanks for understanding. --Moydow T · C 20:05, 12 March 2012 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for helping out with the spammers as much as you have lately. I appreciate it. Prod and I are working to find a solution that will make it much harder for them to attack. Procyon 01:47, 5 May 2012 (UTC)

No problem :) We actually had a pretty big attack by spammers recently over at the F-Zero Wiki, so I installed the QuestyCaptcha module for ConfirmEdit and some basic questions like "What is the (random number) letter in F-Zero Wiki?", and that seems to have stopped a lot of them. Does something like that sound like it'd be useful here? From what I've seen, the mathematical one is pretty ineffective, and that seems to be a good alternative. --Moydow T · C 02:28, 5 May 2012 (UTC)

File:Dot.png is for marking tables in a way that mimics a table like so: http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/build/garen-spin-to-crit-99504 (look for the table near the top, about one page length down titled "Ability Sequence"). --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 03:07, 17 June 2012 (UTC)

Yes, that is exactly it. Primordial Child (talk) 03:18, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
Looking at that page, it looks like {{yes}} would be more appropriate to me, but since I haven't played LoL, I won't argue if you decide File:Dot.png is more appropriate. --Moydow T · C 01:33, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, it would work but it doesnt exactly fit quite right. A check mark, bullet point, etc would all fit better than simply "yes". Thank you though :) Primordial Child (talk) 05:37, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

Image Discussion

It's Neo22. I've been trying to work on the image a bit, but is there a way to rename the file name or does the admin have to do that, if possible, could you change it so that the fire name for my sprite has a sprite at the end (Pokemon_Conquest_HeroMaleSprite.png) I didn't know what to name it other than the character you play as. Also for the pokemon, they each have their own art in the game, what name should I put when uploading the pokemon art?

--Neo22 (talk) 20:41, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

"Pokemon Conquest HeroMale" is fine, unless you're intending on having several images of the same character (usually, more than one won't be needed). As for Pokémon art, we already have art for most Pokémon, except for Generation V (see Category:Pokémon artwork). So, there's probably no need to upload art for all 649 Pokémon just for this one game. If you want to upload the art for the Generation V Pokémon, use the name format "Pokemon 001Bulbasaur.png", replacing "001" and "Bulbasaur" as appropriate, and place all in Category:Pokémon artwork. --Moydow T · C 21:17, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
There are different spirtes for the characters once they level up, but I wasn't planning on adding them because it would take up too much space on the page. As for the pokemon image, the art from the core pokemon games to Conquest are different, Compare the image of Eevee from the core pokemon games to Conquest and you can see they are different. Plus there's only 170 pokemon in Conquest. Do you still want me to use the official art on here or upload the new pictures that are in Conquest? --Neo22 (talk) 19:05, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
Upload the game-specific versions. No one cares about Pokemon Yellow if they're playing this game. Also, upload the other character sprites; we can make them fit on the page nicely. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 22:42, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
Lost internet for three days due to a severe storm. But I will upload them when I get the chance. I'll let you know when I get the other two sprites up for the hero. --Neo22 (talk) 18:05, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
I apologize for sounding demanding. No worries. I hope things get better for you. =) --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 19:33, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
No worries. You're jut doing your job. Keep up the good work. I have uploaded the two images. Go ahead and try to make them fit in nicely, i'll try to follow up by doing the rest. They are Pokemon Conquest HeroMale2.png and Pokemon Conquest HeroMale3.png if you need the name for them. --Neo22 (talk) 20:34, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
Normally we link to the files by doing this: (see the code for the specially placed, preceding colon) File:Pokemon Conquest HeroMale2.png and File:Pokemon Conquest HeroMale3.png, but since you notified me, I can check your contributions to find out what you've done or uploaded. Grammar rules

I see you reverted my edit in Oracles of Ages (rings page) with the purpose of restoring several grammar mistakes. That's vandalism. That's really annoying. Please don't do that anymore. I'll write more when I calm down. --Abacos (talk) 20:33, 29 June 2013 (UTC)

Ok, I'm not upset anymore, I can have a respectful discussion. Still, "OoA" is wrong, as "USoA" would be; "OA" would be correct, as "USA" is. You can trust me on this: I'm not Irish nor American, I'm a Continental, and on the Continent Grammar is a subject taught from the beginning of primary school until the beginning of high school. Quoting a famous proverb, "If all your friends jump off the cliff, would you jump as well?" British and American Common law say that yes, you should jump because of the precedents, but Roman law (used all over Europe) says no, you should not because a codified rule says so. No harm meant, it's just a cultural difference between UK/USA and Europe. Cheers and sorry if I sounded a bit harsh. :-) --Abacos (talk) 22:45, 29 June 2013 (UTC)

No offence taken. I wish schools here put as much effort into teaching proper grammar. :/ Anyway, on that page, I was going by the abbreviations used here and here - those links are from two of the most popular Zelda resources on the Internet, and most Zelda fans will be familiar with the abbreviations used on those sites. I'm a bit of a stickler for proper grammar myself, so I know they're grammatically incorrect, and they stick out like a sore thumb to me, but I'm just using what I think most users will be familiar with (though that goes back to "If all your friends jump off the cliff, would you jump as well?"). Since you've contributed to the guide more than I have, though, I'll leave the final decision to you. --Moydow T · C 23:04, 29 June 2013 (UTC)

Did I edit Oracle of Ages that much? By the way, I added this note on the main page: It is commonly abbreviated OoA or tLoZ:OoA, although the grammatically correct abbreviations would be OA or LZ:OA. That should settle it, right? We quote both the wrong abbreviation and the right one. Maybe I'm sort of a "missionary of grammar", trying to spread the Knowledge in uncharted lands :-)
(PS: I think in English-speaking schools there is no time to teach much grammar because the English spelling requires ages; do you know this joke? An Irish friend showed it to me :-D ) --Abacos (talk) 14:07, 30 June 2013 (UTC)

Meaning of (top)?

I've seen this next to a few of my contributions and can't find anything to explain it's meaning. Also thanks for tidying some of them. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Redhavok (talkcontribs) .

I'm not entirely sure what (top) means, but it only appears beside edits that are the most recent changes on that page, so maybe it's just marking that out. Also, please remember to sign your talk page posts with ~~~~. Thanks. --Moydow T · C
That's my understanding of it too: the "top" comment is at the top in the "History" of that page, that is it's the last edit. --Abacos (talk) 23:40, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
