Welcome to StrategyWiki![edit]

Hello Sclera1! Welcome to StrategyWiki. Thank you for your contributions. If you have any questions, just contact a sysop through their talk page or post on the staff lounge, and they'd be happy to help. If you need help editing, check the StrategyWiki Guide or visit the IRC channel to chat, we're usually around. On the other hand, if you have ideas for StrategyWiki, bring them up on the forums. To keep up-to-date with the goings on of the wiki, consider adding the noticeboard to your watchlist.

Please remember to sign your name when leaving comments on talk pages by clicking Wikisigbutton.png or using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to delete this message from your talk page if you like, or keep it for reference. Happy editing! — Procyon 02:47, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

Preload buttons[edit]

The preload buttons.

In order to keep pages on the wiki neat and uniform, we employ certain formatting and templates to help us accomplish this. When creating a new page, please use one of the preload buttons located above the edit text box, which will insert the needed templates and formatting for you. Thanks for keeping the wiki organized! — Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 17:39, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

Please remember to press the button! It saves the admins like myself time. Thanks =) --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 04:46, 16 October 2012 (UTC)

Resident Evil vs. Star Wars[edit]

I think you put the content of Star Wars: Starfighter/Walkthrough in the wrong place... Shouldn't it be on a Resident Evil page? --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 16:50, 16 October 2012 (UTC)

Image categorization[edit]

When uploading images, please make sure to categorise them using the correct image categories and the guide-specific category, i.e. [[Category:Game Name images]]. Please see our image policy for more details. Thanks for helping to keep our images neat! Paco (talk) 11:50, 14 January 2013 (UTC)

Goof work for adding the Achievement/Trophies for Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, but PLEASE add categories to all images you uploaded and keep it in Mind for the future. Thank you!

Watermarked images[edit]

Please do not add watermarked images, such as the Tails Adventure box artwork from Moby games. I've deleted the file you uploaded. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 04:43, 16 January 2013 (UTC)

Stubs[edit]

Hi Sclera, thanks for your help. Just so you know, {{stub}} goes above {{Header Nav}}. If you want to stub particular sections, use {{sect-stub}} instead. Thank you, --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 18:25, 7 February 2013 (UTC)

Making a new page[edit]

You don't need to ask for permission to make a new page, provided that the page is based on a real, existing video game which falls within the site's scope. The best way to understand what a main game page should entail is to look at main pages for existing guides, particularly those which are part of our featured guides. Easier editing[edit]

The Show preview button (right next to the Save page button) lets you see how your changes will look before saving the page. You can use Show preview as many times as you like until you get the page how you want it. You can also edit the whole page at one time, as opposed to by section, by clicking the Edit tab at the top of the page. Hopefully these little shortcuts will make it easier for you to get the desired result when you're editing, and save you a little time. Thanks for working on the wiki! — Procyon 01:07, 26 June 2022 (UTC)

I appreciate the desire to get the Duke Nukem controls and Table of Contents pages just right, but if you could make your edits, and use the "Show Preview" button to see how they look, and then only save the page when you're sure it's correct, it would make the admins' jobs much easier. Thanks. Procyon 21:34, 6 July 2022 (UTC)

Stubbing in lists[edit]

It's fine to stub in lists if you don't have time to fill in the descriptions, that's absolutely no problem. It's not the number of edits to a page over its lifetime that matters, it's the very quick edits over a short period of time when you could just use Show Preview to test small changes out before saving them that make more work for admins. But yeah, stubbing information is totally cool, I do it when I'm short on time too. Procyon 23:48, 10 July 2022 (UTC)

Table of Contents links[edit]

Please add these as links instead of just text: The Terminator: Dawn of Fate/Table of Contents. If you don't get back around to filling in the pages, future less experienced editors can just click the links and jump in to editing the pages. -- Prod (talk) 05:22, 26 July 2022 (UTC)

The Force Unleased[edit]

I saw you created a few pages for the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed guide. Since the 4 versions are so different, I split up the guides. Can you please verify your content is in the correct guide? -- Prod (talk) 03:48, 8 August 2022 (UTC)

Thanks! No rush. Also, please use four tilde's to sign ~~~~ otherwise it doesn't include your name. -- Prod (talk) 03:56, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
