Renaming Images[edit]

I tried to move File:Acacheivement1.jpg to File:AC achievement the eagle and the apple.jpg and I got this error: Could not find file "$1". It seems that the image is still at this page but the page info was moved to the other page. How should I re-merge the two as I can't find any guides about how to do this?--The preceding signed comment was added by Rocky (talkcontribs). 06:12, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

I did an old fashioned move for that one (download/upload). -- Prod (Talk) 14:47, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
Please note that the feature is still considered experimental and may not work under all circumstances. --Skizzerz 20:45, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

HELP ME[edit]

Dude, all I want to do is create a page, and you always delete it! Why? Why don't you just tell me what I'm doing wrong?!

I did tell you what you were doing wrong. Whether or not you actually read what I said is your problem, not mine. I left a message on your talk page when you were logged in about how to properly name and create pages. You did not follow the advice nor even respond to my question as to which guide it should be. As such, I foregone the three days I gave to you and simply deleted both ambiguous pages once the second was created. Try actually reading the guide (click the Help link the the sidebar) -- and I really do mean read, don't just skim. Once you do so, you should be able to figure out how to properly name pages. If you still don't get it after that, then you just fail. --Skizzerz 21:20, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Thanks![edit]

Thank you! I read the guide, and I get it now! I'll now make sure I create the pages correctly!

About user pages....[edit]

How do you put those templates like "My Wii Number is (number here)". Ive wanted to put stuff on that page but I dont know how to use those templates--Dprather 00:40, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

Thanks![edit]

Thanks for the help with the user page thing it helped alot--Dprather 01:02, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

Hey Skizzerz,[edit]

I know I haven't been around much, but poke me on IRC if there's a huge backlog of edits and/or crap that I could help deal with. I've been fairly busy as of late, trying to get Nexon America to get off their ass and help me out with this problem. I'll get back to the C&C3 guide shortly. Of course, there's also school. --Arrow Windwhistler (talk) 17:40, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

I basically went off against Prod instead[edit]

If I didn't have 100 discussions back and forth just trying to get where people could find the guides way back when, I would not have been so fed up by the time I got back with this issue.

I was being honest that I was upset and I apologized for my "stridency," and you come back to go into depth of what an "ass" I am. Prod says he won't tolerate name calling (but seconds your motion) so he doesn't want anything more to do with ME.

You all have fun.

New Card Idea[edit]

  1. Name: Mr. Sue
  2. Color: Black
  3. Frame: Modern
  4. Border: Black
  5. Casting Cost: 1 colorless, 1 black
  6. Artwork: Randoms okay... Unless you can think of something better.
  7. Type: Creature, Vandal
  8. Abilities: Haste, At the end of turn, ban Mr. Sue from the game (remove from game, essentially).
  9. Flavor Text: "I WILL HAVE MY REVENGE FOR DESTROYING MY REPUTATION!"
  10. Watermark: Not necessary
  11. Power/Toughness: 3/3

--DukeRuckleyTalk | Contribs 16:22, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

I should probably make a notice that I generally disregard what you type in for Abilities and just make up my own stuff that I think works better :P
Anyway, How's this for an ability? Suspend 3 - B, When Mr. Sue comes into play, remove it from the game at end of turn with 3 time counters on it -- This helps promote the idea that he's persistent (since he comes back every 3 turns instead of just dying off once). Also, I bumped the initial mana cost to 2B since it's a 3/3. Please try to find some artwork online though and link me to it, since I got nothing for this :) --Skizzerz 20:55, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Marvel Ultimate Alliance[edit]

You may not remember it now but I wonder if you do remember that you left an image discussion on the page. It would've been interested had you approached it on the help page. If you don't want to raise this idea than I'll do the honours. You know if you haven't left it on the discussion page, than there's no way to approach this idea. I'll compliment you by the way. Great idea! Johnnyauau2000 13:28, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, but I don't remember anything about that. Perhaps a link to the page would be helpful :) --Skizzerz 23:13, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
Here's a link to refresh your memory. http://strategywiki.org/wiki/Talk:Marvel:_Ultimate_Alliance Johnnyauau2000 00:16, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

Guild Wars Userspace[edit]

I was thinking about making a page dedicated to my Guild Wars characters, but now I'm not sure if I will or not... So instead I just left it a dead link for the time being. Thanks though!--DukeRuckleyTalk | Contribs 01:26, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Error in image[edit]

Hey, Rocky found this problem in an image page. It says Undefined offset: 1 in <b>/home/swiki/public_html/w/includes/ImagePage.php</b> on line <b>862</b> in the source. I guess it's causing the left nav to break? - najzere 00:30, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Should be fixed now. --Skizzerz 01:54, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
Hey I noticed that the Mibbit/ad thing is fixed now. I assume that's your doing, so thanks, it looks good! - najzere 19:18, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Archived Pages[edit]

I wanted to know how to archive a talk page, and naj said to find someone's talk page I liked the look of and as them about the basics. Although if I'm honest most people's archived talk pages look simular anyway. So, what do I need to do? --Melon247 18:28, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

Basically, you move old discussions to a sub-page and link to it using Archive. --Skizzerz 20:31, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
Ok, thanks! I was going to say that I worked out how to use the archive template but my computer got stuck last night. Merry Christmas! --Melon247 10:31, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

Re: Nuke[edit]

I wasn't able to use Nuke for everything because it has a serious flaw: it doesn't undo page moves. I had to revert his page moves individually, otherwise Nuke would have deleted the redirects. If this functionality could be added it would become the perfect anti-vandalism extension, but right now it still requires a bit of personal involvement. GarrettTalk 20:15, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Well, I'll see if I can talk brion into coding it ;) --Skizzerz 20:41, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

We could always protect against moves. --Arrow Windwhistler (talk) 21:24, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Twilight Princess Guide[edit]

Hey is it just me or is the numbering on the Heart Pieces a bit off? --Argash 14:27, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

Actually I was referring to the numbering inside the walkthrough itself. For example Goron Mines lists pieces 7 and 8 and the next page Zora's River starts counting at 10. --Argash 16:19, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
Ahhh Ok, I'll start fixing numbers as I go then. BTW is there an easy way to take screen shots of Wii games? --Argash 17:19, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

Can you double-check the Cave of Ordeals directions?[edit]

Sorry about the Twilight Princess Lakebed temple weirdness—I thought I had the temple memorized, but it turns out I'm more confused than I thought. One question though: can you re-check the last direction change you made to Restoring Eldin Bridge? I might be mis-reading this, but it seems to say that the bridge piece (and the cave of ordeals) is in the south*west* corner of the desert (assuming you're reading the Wii version). Having fired up the old save game, it appears to be in the south*east* corner of the desert (bottom-right). It's good to hear that you've spent so much time on this guide—I promise to stop second-guessing your directional skills without talking to you first. ;) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by LinkTiger (talkcontribs) .

Image link=[edit]

Would it be possible or a good idea to get the link= parameter functional in tags? I'm talking about having an image direct somewhere other than the image page, like an <imagemap>, but with simpler syntax for when you want the whole image to be one link. Syntax would be a lot simpler:

    <imagemap>
      File:mainpage.png
      rect 0 0 100 100 Main Page
      desc none
    </imagemap>

versus:

Also, <imagemap> has weird formatting issues with it being wrapped in its own <div> that makes it impossible to use inline (in text). Looking here, it looks fairly straightforward to implement. What do you think?

By the way, it looks like external links don't like "https" huh? - najzere 19:42, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

https links are meant to display a padlock icon (http://upload.wikimedia.org/skins/monobook/lock_icon.gif), but this is missing from BlueCloud. The skin still leaves room for the padlock, however, hence the empty gap. GarrettTalk 20:38, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
Fixed the padlock image. -- Prod (Talk) 23:34, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

customtoc[edit]

Well, I was having some real issues with the toc class table, even when it would show/hide, so I switched to NavFrames. I think the output looks pretty good, but source page is heinous. I just did the "Main characters" sections to see if those links would work on the Characters page. One thing I regret about not using the toc class is having to hardcode each link so the color is consistent. Is there a way to set the color for all links in the table or div styles? Like link-color:#000000 or something? Anyway, wanted to see what you think. - najzere 06:47, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

Rename[edit]

Hi, can you here rename User? Gruß, BobaCartman 14:33, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Oh, you are Wikian :) I mean here, Spongebob-S. please. Gruß, BobaCartman 18:16, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
OK, thanks. Gruß, BobaCartman 17:59, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Clearing Images[edit]

I have been uploading a huge number of images lately, and I've done lots of clearing with them so they don't wind up messing with the guides. Usually, I don't need to clear a small image because it already fits, but on bigger images, I can tell that it's going to overlap into another heading. I think I should be able to take care of everything. --|Superpowered Mario 20:23, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

wolverine[edit]

There was a guy on IRC last night named wolverine who was rather persistent about ignoring the channel topic. I banned him on IRC but it seems unlike strategywiki the ban doesn't expire on its own; I figure he'll have gotten the message by tomorrow, so in case I forget or fail to show up, could you unban user wolverine for me? --Arrow Windwhistler (talk) 04:40, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Technical Restrictions[edit]

Why does WP have it then? -- Prod (Talk) 01:40, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

It seems to have something to do with DISPLAYTITLE not handling special cases like and _. I'll look into cleaning up the reasoning/usage this weekend. -- Prod (Talk) 05:23, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

About the deleted Template[edit]

I just thought i should make another since walkthrough is already redirected to quests, ill just take out quests. -- Hayrik* Talk *

i wanna post my gaming achievements[edit]

i wanna post my achievements because i want pepole to see what i can do and see other pepoles achievements so i can beat them so can i start a project on this?

No --Skizzerz 22:38, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Front page: Collab of the month[edit]

Shouldn't we have a link to the Chrono Trigger main page? I just figure it'd be one less step to get to it if you're reading about the Collab of the Month. --Arrow Windwhistler (talk) 16:23, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

Whoops, that was my bad. I see Sigma fixed it. — najzereT 16:28, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

Images from websites[edit]

Are we allowed to get images from the BSP official website? I got all mine previously from the actual game (and categorized them as screenshots). Adamcube was uploading a few images from there, and I wasn't sure if we're allowed to do that. Regardless, I think I'm going to delete them all and reupload them (and categorize them while I do so), if anything to get rid of the borders. --Arrow Windwhistler (talk) 14:46, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

I think these images fall under fair use, just like screenshots. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 18:56, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

MediaWiki:External image whitelist[edit]

Should we enable? -- Prod (Talk) 01:50, 15 October 2009 (UTC)

What sort of benefit would this have? --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 05:13, 15 October 2009 (UTC)
No risk of people linking to unfortunate images as easily. We don't get people hotlinking their images from other sites. If people try to link to images in photobucket it automatically doesn't work so they know something is wrong immediately. -- Prod (Talk) 15:24, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
In that case, then yes we should enable it. Primarily we want to disable the ability for people to hotlink copyrighted and watermarked images, as well as potentially offensive images. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 17:16, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

AlphabetTOC script[edit]

Hi, when you get a chance can you check over the script I added to my user scripts to remove unused links in the alphabetTOC template? It's at the bottom (alphabet_links). It works perfectly for me in FF, but you'd probably know if anything needs to be cleaned up for efficiency or browser compatibility. I'd like to move it into Common.js after it's been checked over, as I know I'm not the only one that wanted that TOC to be a little more dynamic. Thanks, — najzereT 23:26, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

Question on OOT Maps[edit]

I'm just wondering where you got those high-quality maps for the first three dungeons. I can't find good images of the rest of the maps anywhere (and I don't want to stir up any copyright violations). Are they out of the official guide? The copies seem to be a bit rare and expensive. If you can add the rest, that would be great, but I understand if you can't right now. --|Superpowered Mario 22:17, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

Email[edit]

I sent you an email message. Have you received it? Just wanted to make sure you got it. Thanks. --Doink9731 02:13, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
