Walls of text

Hi Zeldafan915. Thank you for your contributions, you're doing a great job setting up the pages. I just have one small piece of advice; try to avoid writing giant walls of text. They're really hard to read. I'm not suggesting that you have to write less. The best way to fix this is to add two lines between paragraphs so that there's one blank line between them. I did that with one obvious paragraph on your page, but I didn't see any other opportunities to break up the text, so I thought I'd leave it to you. Thanks again. Image uploads

Please see our policy on image naming and categorization. For consistency and ease of use throughout the wiki, image names should contain the name of the game or its abbreviation and a one or two word description. All images also need the appropriate categories added, as well as the guide-specific image category (e.g. [[Category:Game Name images]]). Hey Zeldafan915, it's not uncommon when you upload a second version of an existing image, that your local browser cache hangs on to the first image, and makes you think that the new image looks identical to the old image. That's not true on the site, it just looks that way according to your browser. You typically have to wait a while for your cache to clear, or you can try forcing it by pressing Ctrl+F5. Either way, just give it a moment, and you will eventually see the updated image on the site.Procyon 18:44, 16 August 2015 (UTC)

Logo categories

Prod (talk · contribs) went ahead and fixed up the SSF Logo for you. For logos, you can either use Category:Box artwork or Category:Artwork. Box artwork is usually more appropriate, especially if it's the logo which actually appears on the box. Thanks for working on a Skylanders guide. Procyon 03:24, 30 December 2014 (UTC)

Pre-load buttons

In order to keep pages on the wiki neat and uniform, we employ certain formatting and templates to help us accomplish this. When creating a new page, please use one of the pre-load buttons located above the edit text box (e.g. click on "Guide page" to add {{Header Nav}} to the top and {{Footer Nav}} to the bottom), which will insert the needed templates and formatting for you. These templates are very handy because they include the templates that are required for each page type. If you are unsure about how to use them, or what pages to use them on, please let me know. Credited images

Hi Zeldafan915. As cool as that M2 map was that you uploaded, I had to delete it unfortunately. It contained copyright information, and due to our license, we aren't able to present it here without explicit permission from the original author. If it goes on this site, you're effectively make it part of the public domain, and that might go against the author's wishes. If you do have the author's permission, then it's cool, but you have to say so. There are ways around this, let me know if you want some help. Procyon 00:25, 14 August 2015 (UTC)

If you have an email address that you don't mind me writing to, I can send you a more complete response, this is just a summary of the basics. Ideally, you could try to find an image that is not copyrighted. However, if that's not available, you can always use someone else's work as a base or guide, and construct your own version of it, either by copying the details, or heavily modifying the existing image until it becomes a unique work that you created. There are a lot of approaches to this, and they are somewhat morally gray in that you're not completely ripping off someone else's work, but you didn't do the hard wrk to construct it from scratch either. But technically speaking, sufficiently modifying an existing piece of work makes it a new piece of work. The degree to which you leave behind traces of the original impacts how likely the original author will resent what you've done. In the end, use your best discretion, but obviously unaltered material can never be accepted on the site without the author's permission. Procyon 02:03, 15 August 2015 (UTC)

Unfinished sentences

Please don't save edits with unfinished sentences. At the end of Metroid II: Return of Samus/Phase 2, you ended the last paragraph with "Now head up the" without finishing your thought.
