Humans have been in each Warcraft game yet. Their official name is "the alliance". That's because they formed an alliance with the High Elves and Dwarves in Warcraft 2, and with the Blood Elves in Warcraft III: TFT.
Their Units are typically rather slow and have a little less hitpoints than the other races. Their buildings have got a special upgrade which makes them the strongest buildings of all the races. Without the upgrade human buildings are probably a little weaker than undead buildings. Humans typically concentrate on casters as their primary units combined with a small amount of units to counter the enemy strategy. If Humans manage to get a second goldmine early in the game though, their focus often switches from casters to air units.
Their main weakness is often considered their economy. That is because they have no "retreat" building like the Orcs and Nightelves do. Additionally they have to keep the movement inside the base easy to allow the economy to work, which makes for easier attacking. Their workers are also the primary base defence, which often results in high losses even if the economy isn't directly attacked. Another minor weakness would be, that they have no "universal" building like the Slaughterhouse, the Ancient of Lore and the Beastiary, with which you can counter almost everything. This results in slow counters because Humans have to build the required building first. This is however only a minor weakness because Humans are able to powerbuild (see below).
Their main strength would be their casters, since they have nearly limitless mana thanks to the brilliance aura of the Archmage. Another strength is the ability to "powerbuild" buildings with more than one worker at a time, which can result in fast expansions, which are hard to prevent by the enemy.
Orcs are part of an alliance called "Orcish Horde" led by Thrall. The Orcs have the strongest melee units in the game. Their main weakness is their burrows-they are the weakest food source compared to other races (Human, Building armor upgrades, Nightelf, healing ability, Undead, evolve into offensive towers) and defence against ranged units. Although the burrows have no real advantage like the other race, they can still hide peons in them to keep peons from getting killed in a attack from the opponent.
The Night Elves, better known as "The Sentinel", are probably the most crafty race in the game. Night Elves have a unique way of gathering lumber. Their wisps can harvest lumber without actually cutting down trees. They also have buildings that can move and attack (Except for 3 buildings). The wisps have a percent chance that in the construction of a building, the wisp will dissapear. This means that a player will have to produce more. The down side of combat for The Nightelfs, is that they don't do well in open combat. It is ideal if a given player will take advantage of the invisibility that Nightelf units get at night.
This race came to Warcraft III, as one of the two new races, "The Scourge"´s main disadvantage is, that they have nearly no chance to win an open fight in the early- late mid=game (Tier1 - Tier2), but if they reach Tier 3, nearly no other race can stop them without an expansion. So the usual play style is very defensive until they reach Tier 3.
