It is Akira's job to fight the apparition army and save the land. Only he possesses the ESP powers that enable one to fight against beings from the after life. Akira can run left or right, and he can jump. He also has the ability to fire psychokinetic attacks that harm ghosts. When the game begins, his Psycho Stinger power is at its weakest. As Akira earns points, his experience meter will grow. At two points along the experience meter, Akira's Psycho Stinger shot will evolve and become stronger. Above the experience meter is Akira's life meter. If an apparition hits Akira, he will take damage, and his health meter will shrink. The game will be over if Akira's life meter is ever fully drained. Collect items to refill depleted health. Akira can also collect certain items which he may use by pressing

. If Akira has more than one of these such items, pause the game and press left or right to change which item is selected for use.
