The enemies that Link encounters in the palaces are different from those that he encounters in the outdoors of Hyrule, but many behave in a similar fashion. The enemies which challenge Link differ according to which Palace he explores. One set of enemies can be found in the first, second, and fifth palaces while another set is found in the third, fourth, and sixth palaces. A special set of enemies are exclusive to the Final Palace.

Link will encounter particularly more battle-hardened opponents indoors, including sword-wielding skeletons, and armored warriors known as Ironknuckles. It is important that Link be on guard against even the weakest enemies, because certain kinds remove more than just health. Getting run through by a Kobold reduces your current experience points by 10. If a Bubble touches Link, his magic will be reduced along with his health.

The following information is provided for each enemy, where available:

  • EXP: The amount of experience points you earn for defeating this enemy.
  • HP: The amount of hit points the enemy has.
  • Power: The base offensive strength this enemy possesses.
  • Drop: An "A" indicates that the enemy will either drop a Blue Potion Adventure of Link Blue Potion.png or a 50 Point Bag. A "B" indicates that the enemy will drop a Red Potion Adventure of Link Red Potion.png or a 200 Point Bag.

Common to all Palaces[edit]

Enemy Name Info Description
Adventure of Link Kobold.png Kobold
  • EXP: 0
  • HP: 1
  • Power: 8
  • Drop: -
Kobolds are among the weakest palace enemies that you will encounter. They share a lot in common with Weak Moblins; they march forward continuously, are extremely easy to kill, are worth no experience points, and actually take 10 points away from you if you get hit by them. They approach at two different speeds. While the faster Kobolds can be leaped over, it's best to strike the slow ones so that you don't risk losing valuable experience points.
Adventure of Link Bot.png Bot
  • EXP: 2
  • HP: 4
  • Power: 16
  • Drop: A
Don't mistake these Bots for their weaker outside brethren; having been trapped inside a Palace, these slimes have become a lot more battle hardy. They have just one more hit point, but they are twice as strong. Be especially careful when Bots jump down off ledges as they have the ability to propel themselves quite far. Bots are not found in the Hidden Palace.
Adventure of Link Ironknuckle Red.png Ironknuckle (Red)
  • EXP: 100
  • HP: 24
  • Power: 48
  • Drop: B
Red Ironknuckles are, of course, a step up in power from the orange variety (see below). Despite the extra effort required to fight Red Ironknuckles, their behavior differs very little from orange ones. They are simply better at raising or lowering their shield to counter Link's attacks. A jumping slash to the head is still the best course of action when facing these warriors, but watch again for a flurry of counterattacks should you score a hit. They do not appear in Parapa Palace. It should be noted that Red Ironknuckles are also likely to appear when Link strikes certain Ironknuckle statues. In many cases, a red potion will appear, but there's also a chance the Ironknuckle will come to life and attack Link!
Adventure of Link Ironknuckle Blue.png Ironknuckle (Blue)
  • EXP: 150
  • HP: 56
  • Power: 48
  • Drop: B
Blue Ironknuckles are the strongest of their kind. Blue Ironknuckles possess a sword power much like your own; their swords can emit beams, and more than just one at a time. Blue Ironknuckles will typically send out three or four such beams in an effort to keep Link at bay, but they'll also throw an extended flurry after getting hit. Link's shield can block them, but it may be necessary to leap over them in order to get close enough to the sword wielders themselves and strike them down. They do not appear in the Parapa or Midoro Palaces.
Adventure of Link Bubble.gif Bubble
  • EXP: 50
  • HP: 255
  • Power: 8
  • Drop: -
Bubbles are mystical spirits that are caught in the realm of the living. They are capable of draining all manners of life energy from their victims, so they not only drain health, but magic power as well. Bubbles move in 45-degree angles (bouncing off any walls) at two different speeds. The slow ones are easy to avoid, but the fast Bubbles move at a terrific speed. Striking them with your sword renders them motionless and harmless for half of a second. During that time, you can move through them without harm. But they have an incredibly high amount of vitality, that it's normally not worth the effort it takes to kill them unless your sword level is high and you have the Downward Thrust.
Adventure of Link Ra.png Ra
  • EXP: 20
  • HP: 56
  • Power: 8
  • Drop: A
The Ra are floating heads of dragon statues. They float through palace hallways in the pattern of a sine wave, typically at Link's current height when they appear on the screen. They are not a tremendous threat to Link, but they tend to appear continuously in certain passageways in large numbers. They are also quite sturdy and difficult to remove quickly. It is best to avoid them all together. They are not found in Parapa Palace.
Adventure of Link Mau.png Mau
  • EXP: 5
  • HP: 3
  • Power: 16
  • Drop: A
The Mau statue heads may seem similar to the Ra statue heads, but they are in fact quite different. They move in more of a square wave motion; moving forward, then down a little, forward, then back up a little, and so on. They are also considerably weaker and are easily destroyed. They are capable of firing slow beam projectiles at Link, which are only half has damaging as contact with the head itself. Note that such beams may also be emitted from stationary Ra and Mau statue heads connected to the walls as well. They do not appear in Parapa Palace or Midoro Palace.
Adventure of Link Moa Fire.png Moa (Fire)
  • EXP: 50
  • HP: 16
  • Power: 48
  • Drop: A
The Fire Moa is a special kind of Moa that is only found in palaces. In addition to being a dangerous floating spirit, they all "cry" tears of flame. As they cross overhead, balls of flame drip from their eye and land on the ground, remaining in place until they ultimately burn out. They have a tendency to fly quite high off the ground, so they are difficult to kill.
Adventure of Link Myu.png Myu
  • EXP: 5
  • HP: 3
  • Power: 16
  • Drop: A
More of an annoyance than anything else, these small spiky creatures can be found inside the palaces as well. Once you know the downward thrust technique, they should pose little threat to you at all. They do not appear in Parapa Palace or Midoro Palace.

Parapa, Midoro, and Ocean Palaces[edit]

Enemy Name Info Description
Adventure of Link Stalfos Red.png Stalfos (Red)
  • EXP: 30
  • HP: 8
  • Power: 16
  • Drop: B
Red Stalfos are the skeletons which guard the hallways of Parapa Palace. They hold a shield to their chest which is quite capable of absorbing high attacks, but they're not too careful about protecting their legs. Crouching slashes will always hit, but keep an eye out for their sword attacks as well!
Adventure of Link Stalfos Blue.png Stalfos (Blue)
  • EXP: 50
  • HP: 12
  • Power: 16
  • Drop: B
Blue Stalfos replace the red ones in the Midoro and Ocean Palaces. They can take a few more hits and they even know the ability of the downward thrust. You must be especially to careful to evade this attack when they jump up in the air. Other than that, the same strategy of slashing at the legs should suffice.
Adventure of Link Ironknuckle Orange.png Ironknuckle (Orange)
  • EXP: 50
  • HP: 16
  • Power: 24
  • Drop: B
Orange Ironknuckles may be the weakest of their kind, but they are still a formidable opponent. Not only will they keep Link on his toes with the ability to swing their sword both high and low, but they can also raise and lower their shields with surprising agility. You may find it hard to land a sword strike on this armored foe. It is best to attempt a jumping slash to the head in an effort to trick Ironknuckle. Be careful should you score a hit; Ironknuckles typically react to this with a brief flurry of sword swings. It is difficult, if not impossible to get behind an Ironknuckle as they rapidly retreat if you approach them. When not attacking, stay well outside their attack range.
Adventure of Link Gooma.png Gooma
  • EXP: 50
  • HP: 16
  • Power: 24
  • Drop: B
Goomas are trouble, no matter how strong Link is. They throw a never-ending supply of maces through the air in a parabolic arc. They will never stop throwing the maces, although they may take a momentary breather. This is your chance to scoot inside their throwing range and strike at them. Despite their size, Goomas are light on their feet, and they have a tendency to reel back a few steps when struck, so make sure you move along with them so as not to end up back in the range of their maces.
Adventure of Link Arnel Blue.png Arnel (Blue)
  • EXP: 10
  • HP: 6
  • Power: 16
  • Drop: A
These blue cobras move in a very similar fashion to Octoroks. They move forward, hopping off the ground. They aren't too much of a threat, but they should still be watched carefully before attacking to be sure that they don't hop toward you and harm you while you attempt to strike them.
Adventure of Link Bagobago.png Bagobago
  • EXP: 5
  • HP: 3
  • Power: 8
  • Drop: A
The enchanted fish skeletons that can be found hanging around Hyrule's bridges and caves can also be found inside the lava portions of the Ocean Palace. They behave exactly the same, but by the time you encounter them indoors, you should be quite familiar with how to deal with them. They will drain 10 experience points from Link if they touch him.
Adventure of Link Octorok Blue.png Octorok (Blue)
  • EXP: 20
  • HP: 12
  • Power: 16
  • Drop: A
Another familiar face from the outside, some Blue Octoroks have managed to make their way inside the Palaces and make their home there. They still have the same ability to fire rocks at Link from their snout. Just as with the outdoor variety, there are two kinds; the stationary kind, and the ones that like to advance. The stationary kind can only be found in Midoro Palace, but the moving kind can be found in the Midoro and Ocean Palaces.
Adventure of Link Margo.png Margo
  • EXP: 200
  • HP: 32
  • Power: 48
  • Drop: -
The Margo are a clan of witches who wield the power of fire, and are only found in the Ocean Palace. They are also quite adept at teleportation, but use of these magics have made them weak and unable to evade a threat. Their favorite method of attack is to teleport in front or behind a target, throw a ball of magic along the floor, and disappear before the target has a chance to retaliate. However, at 200 experience points per kill, it is well worth the effort to remove these stationary enemies as long as they remain tangible.

Island, Labyrinth, and Hidden Palaces[edit]

Enemy Name Info Description
Adventure of Link Parutamu Red.png Paltamu (Red)
  • EXP: 50
  • HP: 24
  • Power: 24
  • Drop: B
Paltamus are skeleton warriors like the Stalfos, except that they wear helmets. They carry shields as well, but still suffer from the same inability to defend to their legs. They have far more hit points than Stalfos, so be prepared to fight.
Adventure of Link Parutamu Blue.png Paltamu (Blue)
  • EXP: 70
  • HP: 32
  • Power: 48
  • Drop: B
Blue Paltamus are stronger than the red variety, but they offer more experience points as well. As with the Blue Stalfos, they have a wider array of attacks that they can use against Link. Be careful of a downward thrust attack after they leap in the air.
Adventure of Link Helgooma.png Helgooma
  • EXP: 100
  • HP: 32
  • Power: 48
  • Drop: -
Helgoomas are a stronger variant of Goomas. They too like to toss a never ending supply of maces at Link, but these maces act differently. Instead of flying in an arc, these will fly forward for a bit and then suddenly turn back the other way. And just to keep things interesting, Helgoomas occasionally jump and toss one of these in midair in an attempt to get you while trying to jump over them. Approach these enemies cautiously.
Adventure of Link Wizzrobe.png Wizzrobe
  • EXP: 100
  • HP: -
  • Power: 48
  • Drop: B
The Wizzrobes are back, and they are even more difficult to hit than before. There's only one method that you can use to defeat them, and that is to give them a taste of their own magical medicine. Ordinarily, Link's shield is capable of blocking the spell attacks, but by using the spell of Reflect, you can enchant Link's shield so that the spells instead bounce off of his shield and back at the Wizzrobes. They appear and disappear so it may be difficult to hit them in time with their own spell, but keep trying.

Great Palace[edit]

Enemy Name Info Description
Adventure of Link Fokkel Bird.png Fokkel
  • EXP: 200
  • HP: 144
  • Power: 72
  • Drop: -
The bird race of the Fokkels are the chosen protectors of the Final Palace. A number of Fokkel choose to guard the palace in their native form, as a bird that hops around, breathing fire. The fire travels forward in an arc, landing on the floor and continuing to move forward under its own momentum until the friction on the floor stops it. Therefore, you must jump over the flame as it approaches your feet.
Adventure of Link Arnel Red.png Arnel (Red)
  • EXP: 20
  • HP: 12
  • Power: 72
  • Drop: A
Like the blue Arnels, these red cobras move like Octoroks, crawling forward and hopping off the ground. As they do, they spit fire. Their fire isn't too harmful, but contact with them can be quite damaging; plus your shield won't be able to deflect them unless augmented with Reflect. Strike them low to the ground before they leap.
Adventure of Link Bagobago.png Fire Bagobago
  • EXP: 20
  • HP: 3
  • Power: 48
  • Drop: A
A special version of these fish skeletons are capable of spitting out fire. They are otherwise no different from regular Bagobagos. Let them sail over Link's head before attempting to attack them. As with all Bagobagos, they will drain 10 experience points from Link's current total every time they touch him.
Adventure of Link Bubble Degu.gif Degu Bubble
  • EXP: -
  • HP: 255
  • Power: 48
  • Drop: -
These rather large bubbles are dangerous and difficult to avoid. They behave very much like Bubbles, and even if you do take the time to reduce their hit points to 0, they never die; they simply split up into two smaller bubbles. It is best to avoid dealing with these at all costs.
Adventure of Link Bot Master.png Bot Master
  • EXP: -
  • HP: -
  • Power: 48
  • Drop: -
This gigantic slime is actually the product of multiple slimes merging together to form one giant creature. As a result, when you strike the Bot Master and cause enough damage, the force holding it together breaks apart, and the creature splits apart into 10 individual Bots which you must defeat.
Adventure of Link Bot.png Bot
  • EXP: 10
  • HP: 208
  • Power: 48
  • Drop: A
Although the Bot Master can be broken up into 10 smaller Bots, they still contain a very high vitality, requiring a significant number of strikes to defeat. All other Bots that you encounter in the final palace will be just as strong, but only contain 48 hit points.
Adventure of Link Ra Gold.png Ra (Gold)
  • EXP: 20
  • HP: 96
  • Power: 48
  • Drop: A
This gold variety of Ra can only be found in the Final Palace. It is quite a bit stronger than the usual Ras that you encountered in the earlier Palaces. They still have the same up, forward, down, forward motion, but be prepared to fight them a bit longer before they go down.
Adventure of Link Fokkel Red.png Fokker (Red)
  • EXP: 70
  • HP: 48
  • Power: 112
  • Drop: -
Red Fokkers are a variety of Fokkel bird that has trained in the more traditional arts of sword fighting. They are very much like Ironknuckles in the sense that they can attack and guard both high and low. Every once in a while, they leap off the floor and pounce a certain distance away. They are also capable of firing beams from their sword. Red Fokkers will sometimes appear from Fokkel statues when you may anticipate a red potion, so be careful.
Adventure of Link Fokkel Blue.png Fokker (Blue)
  • EXP: 100
  • HP: 96
  • Power: 112
  • Drop: -
Blue Fokkers are the most powerful basic enemy that you will encounter in the Final Palace. They are just as strong as Red Fokkers, but they have twice as many hit points. They also rely heavily on attacking you with beams from their sword. Do not rush into a fight with these bird warriors. Study their motion carefully before striking.
