When you first start of, you will be in a train. This weird guy, Rover, will come to you and ask all these questions. You then answer them. Then you have to work for Tom Nook (just for a little bit) then you can do what ever you want! Once you paid of your house, you can (have to) get a bigger house. The biggest is when you get a second floor. If you pay off getting the second floor (which is 800000 bells) then Tom Nook will build a gold statue!
