Throughout the game, many items are scattered in various locations for Kaito to collect. However, additional enemies can be obtains from the red variety of human enemies. Human enemies are usually dressed in orange outfits, but on occasion, they will show up in red outfits. If these enemies are defeated, they will provide you with an item. The stage that they are killed on determines which items your might receive, as indicated by the following table:

Weapons[edit]

The most you can hold of any one weapon is 99 units. Attempting to collect any more than that will result in no increase in your supply. While most weapons will destroy basic enemies in one hit, they do varying degrees of damage to boss characters.

Knife Bombs

Damage: 1. You begin the game with a meager supply of 30 knives. They are a simple weapon the flies straight for a short distance before disappearing. As a result, you must be fairly close to your target in order to attack them. To that end, they are effective. If for any reason all weapons are used up, you gain another 30 knives immediately

Damage: 4. When Kaito tosses out a bomb, they travel up a little bit before getting pulled down by gravity, following an arc as they fall. This is the only weapon where you must press B button twice to use it; once to throw the bomb, and a second time to detonate the bomb and make it explode.

Pistol Bola

Damage: 2. Pistols have obvious advantages over knives because the bullets they fire travel a little faster and much farther than knives. However, once a bullet has been fired, another cannot be fired until the first bullet hits an enemy or disappears off the side of the screen, so be careful not to leave yourself defenseless.

Damage: 3. Kaito only seems to have the ability to throw Bolas at a 45 degree angle above him. For that reason, they are an excellent weapon to use against an enemy who is higher than Kaito. They are also a good choice for boss fights. Note that Bolas are the only weapon who appear differently on the screen (shown right) than on the status bar below (shown left).

Crystal Mine

Damage: 1. Crystals are sacred stones that, when unleashed, have the power to damage every enemy present on the screen. While they are usually capable of destroying most basic enemies in one shot, they are not a good weapon to use against bosses.

Damage: 2. Kaito throwns Mines in a similar manner to the way he throws Bombs. While they can be used as a weapon against enemies, their most important use is to break down weakened walls which can provide Kaito with access to new pathways or hidden treasures.

Items[edit]

Meat Pendant 1 Up

Eating Meat has the beneficial effect of completely restoring Kaito's health meter. While Meat can be obtained by defeating red enemies in the first three stages, they are only provided in limited quantities throughout the final three stages; 4 on the 4th stage, 2 on the 5th, and 3 on the 6th.

Collecting a Pendant will increase Kaito's health meter by one segment, up to a maximum of eight segments. There is only one pendant to find in the first four stages, but the final two stages each contain five pendants.

Find this hat to increase the number of lives or chances that Kaito has to complete his mission.
