Banjo-Kazooie/Mad Monster Mansion

From StrategyWiki, the video game walkthrough and strategy guide wiki

Mad Monster Mansion is the seventh world in Banjo-Kazooie. It is the smallest map in the game, but still more complex compared to other worlds. It features a mansion, a church with a graveyard, and a hedge maze.

The entrance to Mad Monster Mansion.

Entering the Level[edit]

  • Level Location: Go into the mouth of Grunty's statue head, and follow the path until you find a tunnel. Enter the tunnel, and you'll come across a graveyard. There will be a path that leads to the Mad Monster Mansion entrance.
  • Jiggies Required to Enter: 10
  • Jiggy Pad: Go up the slope in the room with Grunty's giant statue head, through the 450 note door, and then dive into the water. Turn to the left of the tunnel, and you'll come across the entrance to the Rusty Bucket Bay, but cannot enter yet. Find another tunnel to swim through and you'll find a room with ledges to climb on. Jump on each ledge until you reached the one with the Jiggy Pad.

1. Napper the Ghost[edit]

Banjo-Kazooie Mad Monster Mansion Jiggy 1.jpg

  • Moves Required: Shock Spring Jump
  • Description: Go all the way to the top of the roof, use the Shock Spring Jump Pad to go into the chimney, and you'll end up in the dining room's fireplace. Touching the wooden floor will cause the floorboards to creak, waking up the ghost that's protecting the jiggy. To prevent this, jump onto the chairs, and then onto the table. Grab the jiggy while Napper is still asleep.

2. Ouija Board Minigame[edit]

Banjo-Kazooie Mad Monster Mansion Jiggy 2.jpg

  • Moves Required: None
  • Description: Use the punch attack (Beak Barge), or the peck attack (Rat-a-tat Rap) by the door to break the shed open. Jump onto the glass that has the jiggy, move the glass around to get the letters BANJOKAZOOIE, but be careful: there's a moving ghost that'll knock you off. Touching the red witch squares will cause you to lose a part of your energy. The glass will disappear once you finish the phrase.

3. In the Cellar[edit]

  • Moves Required: None
  • Description: Go around the haunted house to a cellar, then use Kazooie's Rat-ta-tat Rap attack on the cellar door to break in. There's a ghost in the cellar, so use the Wonderwing move that Bottles taught Kazooie to destroy the ghost (gold feathers needed). Go to the last barrel on the left and attack to break the barrel open, and collect the jiggy.

4. Honoring the Dead[edit]

  • Moves Required: None, but having Mumbo turn you into a pumpkin is easier
  • Description: Look for a well beyond the mansion's shed and jump inside. Look into the bucket and at the bottom is the jiggy. An easier method is to turn into a pumpkin, and enter by a hole next to the bottom of the well. The puzzle piece will be in the same place.

6. Down the Drain[edit]

  • Exit the Mad Monster Mansion world as a pumpkin. As you enter the lava room, turn left and carefully cross the narrow, winding path. Enter the small tunnel next to Brentilda and you'll find Cheato. Speak with him and he'll give you a "REDFEATHERS" spell.
