Mission map.

On Io, we descended into the depths of the abyss with orders to bring it out. 'It'...what was 'it'? Heh...our newfound relic told us about it. But nobody outside S&T knew for sure what it was. It was rumoured to be a new technology upgrade resulting from the bio-metal research the Cthonians performed on Venus. They called it Project Furies. All we really knew was that the Soviets were going to make a play for it. So we had to do the same. The race goes on.

Alien records lead us to Io where we believe that we will discover an alien weapon known as a Fury. Our scientists believe this may be the most powerful weapon that the Cthonian's developed.

MISSION OBJECTIVES:

  • Capture the Fury relic on Io.
  • Have a tug bring the Fury relic back.

ENGINEERING REPORT: We've equipped your vehicle with a flash cannon. This weapon will inflict incredible damage in a continuous stream. Be careful as you use the flash cannon, because it does consume ammo at a rapid pace.

Walkthrough[edit]

New Enemy: Stoli
Stolis are fast and capable light tanks. Being hit with their tag results in a devastating volley of rockets that deals a lot of damage. Take advantage of its slow rate of fire and dodge the tags.

This is a fairly straightforward mission, if you make a play for the relic as soon as possible. The goal is to capture the fury relic located in the middle of the map with a tug, and get it back to your dropoff point. The mission is failed if the relic is destroyed, if the Soviets get the relic back to their base, or if your recycler is lost - which is unlikely.

The map is not particularly large, so whoever gets a jump on the relic first will win. Wresting control of the relic from the Soviets once they capture it will be very difficult; build a small force and go for the relic as soon as possible.

Start the mission by deploying your recycler on any of the geysers nearby, and setting up a pair of scavengers. You start with a whopping 30 scrap, so you'll want to invest the first part of that into getting an even better scrap flow. Build a constructor and set up a forward scrap silo to decrease the travel time necessary for your scavengers, but don't bother with defences - the goal is to rush the relic right away.

This artillery can harass your units guarding the relic.
Don't dawdle!
If you take the time to build up your base, the Soviets will secure the relic with a tug very quickly. If the Soviets pick up the relic, expect to face several Stoli tanks and flankers guarding the relic. It is best to avoid this entirely and rush for the relic yourself.

This means setting up a unit factory as soon as the scrap silo is finished, and building 2-3 tanks or light tanks. Have them follow you and charge the fury relic, dealing with the two flankers sent to guard it and its single pak backup. With 2-3 units on your wing, start construction of the tug and get it going. Continue to produce vehicles from your unit factory as reserve should things go wrong.

As soon as the tug is built, have it make a beeline for the relic, which is now under your guard. Task your units to guard the tug as it moves in.

You may want to destroy the artillery on the southern island, but it is not necessary to do so.

Have the tug pick up the relic, then have it go straight home.

The mission is completed as soon as the tug reaches your base.
