The game begins with the airplane you are riding in crashing in the middle of the ocean. When you swim to the surface, you'll see there are flames all around; the only one way to go is into the forbidding lighthouse. Once inside, continue down to an old bathysphere. Enter the bathysphere and ride it down an automated course to the underwater city of Rapture.
