The next area is named after its final boss, Devil Rebirth (デビルリバーズ) in Hokuto no Ken. In Black Belt, it is the domain of sumo wrestler Gonta and his jujitsu men. The common enemies in Hokuto no Ken, Jackal's Lackeys (ジャッカルの部下), behave the same way as those in Black Belt, which in turn act the same as Chapter 1's enemies; they simply punch and attempt to crowd you. This should be a good break from the previous chapter, as you can kick your way past these enemies to the first and only sub-boss.

Sub-boss[edit]

Fox (a jujitsu man wearing black in Black Belt) is one of the easier sub-bosses in the game. He attacks by rapidly twirling a blade as he jumps; this attack is easy to dodge as long as you stay on the ground, and leaves him vulnerable to attacks upon descending. Simply kick him on his way down, then back up as he prepares for another jump. If you're close enough to him, he will attempt to stab you, so remember to keep your distance. After four kicks, he will explode, allowing you to continue. Past a few more common enemies is the final boss of the chapter.

Boss: Devil Rebirth[edit]

Devil Rebirth is a giant, which makes this boss fight a unique one; Kenshiro's sprite will remain small (as it is when he fights common enemies and sub-bosses) while Devil Rebirth's sprite is around the size of the other chapters' bosses. This is a depiction of the difference in size between Kenshiro and his opponent, though this shouldn't fluster you; you have plenty of room to dodge the giant's attacks, and can reach his head with a well-placed jumping kick. Start by jumping over the fireballs he tosses at you, slowly approaching him as you dodge. Eventually, you should be close enough to land a jumping kick. Back away as he jumps toward you, then send him right back to his side of the screen with a few more jumping kicks. When his health is depleted, Kenshiro will deal the final blow with the Seven Star Points of Death (北斗七死星点 Hokuto Shichishi Seiten?).

In Black Belt, there is no difference in size between Riki and his opponent, sumo wrestler Gonta. Gonta utilizes charging attacks rather than fireballs, but these can also be dodged by jumping over them. Punch him after dodging his charge, then back away before he can punch you back. Repeat the process until his health is depleted, at which point Riki will knock the sumo wrestler out of the ring.
