Day 1 Studios was founded in 2001 by ex-employees of FASA Interactive, Electronic Arts, and Microsoft Game Studios. Their first project was MechAssault, which became a very successful franchise for the company, and proved useful to Microsoft in promoting their Xbox Live service (the game was bundled with subscriptions for some time).
Their next project was porting F.E.A.R. to the Xbox 360, followed by the port to the PlayStation 3. In 2008 they released Fracture with LucasArts.
