Description

If you're following along with this guide's walkthrough, you likely arrive here via a tunnel connected to Template:~. The tunnel is displayed here:

Clash at Demonhead NES map Route 33b.png

You arrive from the left cave, and must walk across to the right cave. Early on in the tunnel, you will encounter small enemies which hop toward you when you get close to them. You'll encounter one or two more in the middle of the tunnel, but the majority of enemies here are rising fireballs. You can eliminate them if you shoot them twice (regardless of whether they reach the top or not), or you can time your progress through the tunnel to avoid them.

Either way, when you reach the right cave, you will exit out of the tunnel and arrive in Template:~ though the door of the small building close to the left exit. This route is extremely flat with no obstacles to jump over. On top of that, it only contains two kinds of enemies. From the fortress all the way over to the left exit, the only enemy are slowly falling creatures who bounce high into the air if they hit the ground. Due to how easy they are to shoot, and how many appear as you walk back and forth through the stage, they are an excellent source for money, force fruit, and hearts. You can easily walk back and forth along this route and accumulate a lot of money in a matter of minutes. To the right of the fortress are several looping enemies who aren't that difficult to fight, but they don't spawn in the same numbers.

Teleportation
At this point in the game, you should have enough Force power to use Teleport. This power will dramatically cut down the amount of traveling you need to do to return to a location that you've previously visited. In fact, you can save yourself an enormous amount of work by exiting this route, and visiting Route 39 before you Teleport back to Route 6. When you're finally in possession of the Sword of Apollo, you can then immediately teleport back to Route 39 instead of needing to backtrack through routes 15 and 33.

Whenever you're ready, enter the door in the fortress. You'll find Tom Guycott… passed out on the floor. He claims an incredible monster suddenly appeared and took some medallions. Bang assumes it was the Demon, and realizes he needs to go to Devil's Tower to get the medallions back.

After this encounter, exit the building and walk over to the right exit. The fairy Faysha will be waiting there. She understands that the Demon attacked Guycott, and she instructs you to see the Hermit again before flying away. At this time, you should use the Force power, Teleport, to warp yourself back to Template:~ so that you can use the tunnel at the bottom of the waterfall to reach the Hermit on Template:~. When teleporting, choose the location in the lower right-hand corner, along the river.
