Description

The surface of Route 8 has very little of note to talk about. On either end of the route, you will find the small creatures which look like tiny trees and jump around the ground. In the middle are large bird-like creatures which slowly float up and down, and swoop over whenever you get close to them.

The real interesting part of this stage is actually below the giant pit in the middle of the route.

If you're following along with the Walkthrough, you very likely arrived in Route 8 through the door in Route 35 that required you to use Micro-Power in order to reach. By passing through the door, you will arrive in the small room on the left side. Drop down to the ice cavern below, and you will encounter a large creature which throws chunks of ice at you. These chunks can slide along the ground so be prepared to jump over them if necessary.

As you make your way to the right side of the cavern, you will encounter some enemies which float through the air, and smaller enemies which hop along the ice. Keep blasting as you proceed, and pass through the door to arrive in the middle of a long pit.

At the bottom of this pit is a bed of lava, which you should avoid at all costs. Your goal is to climb back out to the top, and you have a couple of choices as to how you do that. It's very difficult, but still possible, to jump out from the ledge and back to the right in order to grab the wall and keep climbing up. If you have a Jet Pack, using one here is highly recommended. In lieu of both of those options, your only other choice is to jump over to the left, and hope that you land on one of the tiny ledges before you fall all the way to the lava below. From one of the ledges, carefully leap over to the wall, and climb all the way back up to the top. There are a few looping enemies that you'll have to watch out for as you climb.
