At times, Crash will have to time his jumps to get past two wheels.

You will find that many levels in the game have a "twin." That is, some levels have an identical setting to another previously passed, but with a higher level of difficulty. This is the case of Rolling Stones, whose setting is the same as that of Jungle Rollers. Here, too, you'll have to proceed forward by jumping over gaps in the road and avoiding rolling stone wheels. However, there will be more stone wheels, often coupled, and the jumps will require more precision and timing.

In addition to a Tawna bonus round, there is a Nitrus Brio bonus round in this level; the tokens to access it can be found in the following locations:

  • The first token is hidden above a bounce box; after Crash collects all the Wumpa Fruit from it, he can use the arrow box to bounce into the box above it, revealing the token.
  • The second token can be found within the top-left corner of a big group of boxes; Crash will need to grab it before blowing up the adjacent TNT boxes by carefully hopping on it.
  • The final token can be found in a ? box along the path.
Do a spinning jump into the box above the TNT box to avoid getting caught in the explosion.

The N. Brio bonus round consists mostly of TNT boxes. Get across the first group by having Crash do a small hop on each one. For the next group, do a jumping spin into the box that sits above the TNT box, then jump back to the previous platform to avoid the explosion. Bounce along the Crash boxes at the end of the area to collect the extra lives within and reach the warp pad.

Getting the gem[edit]

To get a clear gem in this level, you will first need to get the blue gem from Toxic Waste. With the blue gem, you will be able to access an underground room where there are some hidden boxes.

Relic[edit]

The key to getting a gold or platinum relic here is to collect the three Aku masks scattered across the level, as Crash/Coco can then ignore the timing of the rolling stones, as well as pesky enemies. Also make sure to do the following in order to ensure the best possible time:

  • Do a hop off the first arrow box to reach the time box above it. While this may take an extra second, the three seconds provided by the box should more than make up for any lost time. To quickly cancel out of a second hop off the arrow box, destroy it by spinning into it upon Crash/Coco's descent.
  • Spin into any enemies on the path, as they can then fly back into the boxes behind them, giving Crash/Coco quick access to whatever was inside (most importantly, time or Aku masks).
  • To collect all time bonuses within the big group of boxes, hop on a TNT box and quickly continue moving. The detonation will provide Crash/Coco with any time bonuses that were in the group.
  • Before obtaining invincibility from the third Aku mask, it's perfectly acceptable to take a second or so for the stones to roll out of the way. If jumps aren't timed properly in favor of speeding, you may lose an Aku mask, which would make the rest of the trial much more difficult.

After the third Aku mask is obtained, simply run to the finish. Even if some mistakes were made earlier in the trial, the invincibility and speed provided by the three Aku masks should be enough to earn at least a gold relic.
