This chapter starts on the SOLDIER floor of the Shinra tower. This is the also the chapter where you finish the first DMW reels and start the second.
Shinra Tower[edit]
SOLDIER floor[edit]
When you take control of Zack, you will receive new missions. Then, go to the Training Room for a side quest.
The Training Room[edit]
You need to beat 4 opponents in a row by doing more squats than them, in order to go faster, press the button only when Zack is down. For each opponent beaten, you will get an item for the Wagons Side Quest.

Two lower tier SOLDIERs are talking with each other out of the Briefing Room, you might want to talk to them...
The Briefing Room[edit]
Don't forget to interact with the Supply Pod to receive the Fira materia. Then, go to the elevator, if you want, you can go to the Director's Office Floor to have an interesting talk with him.
First floor[edit]
If you came from upstairs, talk to the guard patrolling to receive a new set of missions (when you finish them, go talk to him again if you want). Don't forget to grab your free Raise by talking to the woman near the exit. But, also talk to a man in the center of the room, he will give you a new set of missions (do the first one to get access to a new shop). If you finished every missions from M2-1-1 to M2-1-5, go in the Exhibition Room and talk to the Scientist there to receive a new mission (M2-1-6, do it now, and go back to the Exhibition Room to talk with the Scientist. You will receive Mithril Tools (important for the Midgar Full of Flowers Side Quest. When you're finished, exit through the door to Sector 8.
Sector 8[edit]
Fountain[edit]
We have a lot to do here. You can always talk to the several Club members if you want to know how they're doing (and also the little boy abandoned by his mother...). But we need to find the journalist the guard patrolling around the fountain is talking about! Hopefully he's not far from here, look to the southeast of the map, you will find him. Now there is a choice, let him go or denounce him? If you want to get every mail and mail sender, you must let him go. East of the fountain is also the guy who gave you missions ealier, if you finished them, go talk to him again. Take the stairs east of the fountain to receive a mail. Next, go to Loveless Street.
Loveless Street[edit]
Talk to the lady walking in front of you the get some news of the "famous" chocobo rider. Then, talk to the 2nd Class SOLDIER to get a new Side Quest Wutai's Nemesis. Talk the the Genesis fan-lady north to receive a new mail. Then, direction East, to the train station!
Sector 1 Station - Platform[edit]
The train is finally here (in case you checked in the previous chapters). Go north and embark!
Sector 5[edit]
Market[edit]
After a cutscene, you're in the market. If you finished her mission, go talk to the little girl. You can always retry one of the two minigames if you want (Materia Race & Quiz).
Street[edit]
If you've finished her mission, you can go talk to the little girl if you want. In any case, go to the Sector 6 Park.
Sector 6 - park[edit]
Talk to the woman here and she will offer you to join a new fan club. Answer her questions right :
- Masamune
- Supernova
- Left
If you answered every question right, you will receive a mail. Now go to the Church.
Sector 5 - Street[edit]
On your way to the church, you'll receive a mail. After exiting the street, you'll get a cutscene.
Modeoheim[edit]
Modeo Ravine - East[edit]
Nothing, just continue.
Modeo Ravine - Southwest[edit]
A cutscene will play. You will then get a new addition to the DMW. Don't go forward just yet, instead, go behind you and follow the way until you find a chest. Then, continue north.
Modeo Ravine - North[edit]
After a cutscene, you will have to infiltrate the facility, Tseng will tell you to get some advices from the others if you talk to him. Talk to the unnamed guard to train your squats (you will need to do some or you will be frozen in no time), talk to Cloud to look at the patrol routes. Now, go down and save at the Save Point. If you want to maximize the number of chests you'll get (and also earn an achievement in Reunion), you need to go unnoticed. The chests contain :
- Power Attack materia
- Stop materia
- Dispel materia
- Hermes sandals
- Pearl Necklace
You can hide by crouching behind some marked locations, and if you're too low on temperature, do some squats. When you reach the entrance you will arrive in the Mako Excavation Facility.

Mako Excavation Facility[edit]
When you arrive, take a left and follow the way to find a chest containing a Hi-Potion. The other path takes you to a Save Point near an elevator, take it.
After the fight, you will be outside again, go into the newly formed hole in the ice to arrive in Modeoheim.
Modeoheim[edit]
You'll receive a mail from Kunsel, continue forward. There is a chest containing 3,000 Gils in the north of the village. There is another one in front of a house upstairs. When you arrive to the Bathouse, you'll receive a mail from Director Lazard, grab the chest to the left and enter.
Modeoheim - bathhouse[edit]
Inside the building, there are 3 chests. The two orange spots will get you Boiler handle, and the other one is a voicemail with 23 unread messages, listen to all of them to get a surprise. When you're finished, go to the baths.
Baths[edit]
When you arrive, you'll get a cutscene, grab the chest (the other one in the water is unaccessible for now), go up the stairs for a cutscene. Continue to the Boiler Room.
Boiler Room[edit]
There is a chest under the stairs to the west. Then, climb the stairs and interact with the machine, if you got the Boiler Handle earlier, you will be able to lower the pressure, and then access two items (one downstairs in a broken part of a big cylinder, the other in the "pool" in the previous room). When you're finished, go outside to find a Save Point.
Bathhouse, 2nd Floor - hall[edit]
You will get a cutscene, and then, a boss fight.
After the fight, the chapter will end.
