Set in the same setting with the earlier game Driller, Dark Side takes place on an alien moon orbiting the planet Evath. The purpose is to destroy the network powering a doomsday weapon that threatens to destroy Evath.
Like other games of the company, it utilizes Freescape, an early real-time 3d engine.
