Deep Dungeon II: Yuushi no Monshou (ディープダンジョンII 勇士の紋章? lit. Deep Dungeon: Crest of the Brave Warrior) is the second game in the Deep Dungeon series. It was developed by Humming Bird Soft and published by Square roughly six months after the first game. Like its predecessor, it is a dungeon crawler presented in a first person perspective.

While the gameplay stays relatively identical to the previous versions, players must now also climb a tower, in addition to delving into the depths of the earth. Monsters in the underground are stronger than those found above ground. Weapons and armor of the main enemy no longer attack the player. There are two endings in this game, and the secret to the good ending must be discovered.

Interesting to note, the MSX version of the game contains a 2D overhead presentation of the town of Dorl, similar in style to Dragon Quest, which is absent from the Family Computer Disk System version. Of all of the games in the Deep Dungeon series, this second chapter has no known English translation patches. Not even partial translations are available.

Story

The Crest of the Brave Warrior takes place hundreds of years after the first story, and the name of the devil emperor Ruu has been forgotten. The spirit of Ruu has been revived, deep down in the underground. Around the same time, a young person who claims to be a descendent of Raru, hero of the first game, appears in the town of Dorl.
