Derby Quiz: My Dream Horse (ダービークイズ・マイ・ドリーム・ホース, literally: Dābī Kuizu: Mai Dorīmu Hōsu) is a horseracing quiz arcade game that was released by Namco in 1998 only in Japan; it runs on the company's System 12 hardware, and much like in all of Namco's older Japan-exclusive quiz games a full knowledge of all three Japanese writing systems (Kanji, Hiragana and Katakana) is essential for success in it. The players must help two of four horses (Max Beauty, the foal of Bravest Roman and Fujitaka Lady, Mejiro Ramone, the foal of Mogami and Mejiro Hiryuu, Dancing Key, the foal of Nijinsky and Key Partner and Pacificus, the foal of Northern Dancer and Pacific Princess) win a race against several other horses by using four buttons to answer this game's questions correctly - however, if either player answers a question incorrectly they will lose a life (which are represented by carrots in the bottom-left and bottom-right corners of the screen) as the horse they had chosen loses ground in the race, and if they lose all their lives, their chosen horse drops out of the race altogether.
