In the early stages of the game, speaking to Odgen, he could tell you the tragic story of King Leoric and the curse that afflicts him. He will tell you that he was buried in the third level of the labyrinth and ask you to save him.

In the third level you will find a crack in a wall, with the inscription "to King Leoric's Tomb". Enter it. You will hear a voice say: “The warmth of life has entered my tomb. Prepare yourself, mortal, to serve my Master for eternity!”. In the burial chamber, proceed northwest. Several skeletons will come your way, but taking them out shouldn't be a problem. When you arrive in a large space, to continue you will have to pull two levers, which are located in two rooms to the right and left, next to a sarcophagus. In these rooms you may also find some interesting items. Once you've pulled both levers, you can proceed to the tomb proper and King Leoric will come towards you. You will recognize him easily, because he is much taller than the other skeletons, wears a crown and wields a huge sword. King Leoric has the ability to resurrect all the skeletons you have defeated by walking by them. The thing you have to fear most, however, are his attacks, which hurt a lot. The best way to defeat him, regardless of the character you use, is to use the Holy Bolt spell. This spell in fact inflicts enormous damage to undead enemies and will allow you to defeat King Leoric without too much effort. If, on the other hand, you don't have this spell, things get complicated. If you play as the Sorcerer, you have to fall back on the less effective Firebolt. If you are a Rogue, you must try to stay away and shower King Leoric with arrows. Finally, if you control the Warrior, have a good supply of potions ready and face King Leoric hand to hand, preferably using a mace, which in this battle is more effective than swords. Another very annoying thing is the fact that King Leoric can absorb your life energy: all the damage he causes you will be converted into life energy for him. You must therefore try absolutely not to get hit.

When you defeat him, your hero will say: “Rest in peace Leoric. I'll find your son” and you can collect the Undead Crown, one of the best helms you can find in the early stages of the game. You can then finish clearing this area of skeletons. Go to every corner of his room and attack each of the four crucified skeleton, making them fall. That will open a door in the northwest, where you might find another interesting item. You can also go to the town and inform Odgen of the success of your mission, but he will not give you any further rewards.
