Diablo II/Throwing weapons

Throwing weapons can be used as both melee and missile weapons, and they occupy 1x2 inventory or stash spaces when not equipped (with the exception of Balanced Axes and Hurbats, which occupy 2x3). They cannot be socketed, and they can only be low, normal or high quality.

All throwing weapons have no range adder when used as melee weapons, and they can be thrown up to 15 yards (half the distance of javelins) at a rate of 18.75 yards per second.

All throwing weapons have 75 Strength and Dexterity bonus when calculating attack damage, so % Damage = [Str * 75/100] + [Dex * 75/100].

Throwing axes[edit]

Throwing axes are one-handed swinging weapons. When equipped by a Barbarian, Axe Mastery applies to melee attacks and Throwing Mastery applies to missile attacks.

Throwing knives[edit]

Throwing knives are one-handed thrusting weapons. When equipped by a Barbarian, no Combat Mastery applies to melee attacks but Throwing Mastery applies to missile attacks.
