Of the common units in the game, there are humans and monsters. Unlike monsters, humans have the ability to equip seven different varied weapons, which allow them to learn weapon-based skills. They have the ability to lift and throw (and when in the right club, Dual Throw) other units, where as monsters automatically "pass" units already thrown towards them, lacking the ability to lift or throw themselves. Humans can temporarily equip a monster as a weapon if the monster undergoes a magichange transformation.

Several human classes can be used from the beginning of the game, but most need to be unlocked. This is typically done by raising different classes to a certain level (for example, the Archer class is unlocked by having both a Valkyrie and Cleric of Lv15 or higher). Higher tiers of the same class are unlocked by leveling up lower tiers (example; a tier 2 Warrior is unlocked by raising a tier 1 Warrior to Lv15; a tier 3 Warrior is unlocked by raising a tier 2 to Lv40; etc).

Despite having the properties of human units, story-bound humans such as Mao and Almaz are not included in this list, as they are thought to be separate, special units.
