Faceless Void is a melee agility hero who is almost always played as a hard carry. He is considered one of the hardest carries not in difficulty, but in how hard he can carry his team when he gets enough farm. His Time Walk gives him a great escape mechanism, which is especially important during the early stages of the game where he is very vulnerable to ganks. His Backtrack gives him more survivability, letting him evade any attack, making dueling against a farmed Faceless Void a bad idea. His Time Lock is a very potent bash passive that, once Faceless Void's attack speed becomes sufficiently high, can stun lock a helpless hero with normal attacks. His Chronosphere gives Void a potent way to initiate, completely disabling anything, friend or foe, that walks inside it, making them vulnerable to Faceless Void's unforgiving attacks. Faceless Void requires good timing and experience to get as much farm as he can, so he can wreck havoc on the enemy team once he does.

Abilities[edit]

Time Walk[edit]

Dota 2 faceless void time walk.png
  • Ability: Target Point
  • Slow: 20% / 30% / 40% / 50%
  • Range: 700 / 900 / 1100 / 1300
  • Mana Cost: 90
  • Cooldown: 19 / 17 / 15 / 13

Time Walk makes you blink towards the targeted area in a straight line, slowing the attack and movement speed of enemies you pass through. It is a great escape mechanism that can not only let you warp to safety, but also slows down any pursuers. It can also be used to chase down wounded heroes to finish them off. You can also use it to make a surprise entrance to a teamfight, dropping a Chronosphere as soon as you reach your destination.

Backtrack[edit]

  • Ability: Passive
  • Dodge Chance: 10% / 15% / 20% / 25%

Backtrack gives you a chance to dodge an attack, whether it is a physical attack or a spell, even attacks from a Monky King Bar. Due to its unique properties it does stack with other evasion items. If you are really lucky you can take several attacks and emerge with nothing more than a scratch. When combined with items to increase your durability, you can be almost impossible to kill.

Time Lock[edit]

  • Ability: Passive
  • Damage Type: Magical
  • Duration: 1
  • Chance: 10% / 15% / 20% / 25%
  • Bonus Damage: 40 / 50 / 60 / 70

Time Lock gives you a chance to stun the attacked unit and do bonus magical damage when you attack, the duration of which is doubled on creeps. It is not very impressive for most of the game, but once you get attack speed raising items and a high agility stat, it becomes devastating. Depending on your luck, you can easily keep an enemy stunned as you go for the kill.

Chronosphere[edit]

Dota 2 faceless void chronosphere.png
  • Ability: Target Point
  • Radius: 450
  • Duration: 4 / 4.5 / 5
  • Mana Cost: 150 / 175 / 200
  • Cooldown: 120 / 100 / 80
  • Scepter Duration: 4 / 5 / 6
  • Scepter Cooldown: 60

Chronosphere will completely pause any unit caught in its radius, be it allied or enemy units, only allowing you and your summoned units to move freely inside. While inside, you also have 1000 movement speed as well as the ability to phase through units. It even disables towers, so you don't have to worry about taking too much damage when fighting near one. When used at the right time, this ability can turn a teamfight around, though not necessarily for the better. If you catch too many of your allies in the sphere, it could cost you a teamfight you would've won.

Aghanim's Scepter can be bought by Faceless Void and will increase the duration of Chronosphere and decrease its cooldown.
