Undying is a melee strength hero who can be played as an initiator or a pusher. He becomes quite dangerous in teamfights when units are grouped together in a small area. His Decay is spammable, and can weaken a group of enemies while dealing lots of damage, as well as making you stronger and harder to kill. His Soul Rip can be an excellent heal or damage spell depending on how many units are near his target. His Tombstone will give him great control of a small area, spawning more and more zombies to overwhelm his foes. His Flesh Golem is a devastating transformation spell that not only debuffs enemies near himself, but makes him even more survivable. Undying may seem like nothing more than a mindless zombie, but let him loose in a teamfight and he can cause quite some damage.

Abilities[edit]

Decay[edit]

Dota 2 undying decay.png
  • Ability: Target Point
  • Damage Type: Magical
  • Damage: 20 / 60 / 100 / 140
  • Radius: 325
  • Duration: 25 / 30 / 35 / 40
  • Strength Steal: 4
  • Mana Cost: 70 / 90 / 110 / 130
  • Cooldown: 10 / 8 / 6 / 4

Decay deals damage to all enemies in the targeted area and temporarily steals 4 strength from each enemy. The strength steal stacks, and since the ability has such a low cooldown, you can steal a lot of Strength, thugh the affected heroes' Strength cannot drop below 1. Decay is very spammable, and you can catch a lot of enemies with it during teamfights. After a few uses, your enemies will be much more fragile and you will be much more durable.

Soul Rip[edit]

Dota 2 undying soul rip.png
  • Ability: Target Unit
  • Damage Type: Magical
  • Damage/Heal Per Unit: 25
  • Radius: 975
  • Max Unit: 5 / 10 / 15 / 20
  • Mana Cost: 50 / 75 / 100 / 125
  • Cooldown: 25 / 20 / 15 / 10

Soul Rip damages the target enemy or heals the target ally based on how many units are nearby. The more units there are, the more damage or heal is dealt. All units counted for the damage or heal instance, whether they are a friend or a foe, will take minor damage and will not die from taking said damage. It can be a great restoration spell or a strong damage nuke, especially if there's a lot of creeps nearby. While you can't heal your faction's structures, you can use it to heal the tombstone generated by yoour third ability.

Tombstone[edit]

Dota 2 undying tombstone.png
  • Ability: Target Point
  • Duration: 15 / 20 / 25 / 30
  • Radius: 400 / 600 / 800 / 1000
  • Spawn Interval: 3
  • Deathlust Health Threshold: 100 / 200 / 300 / 400
  • Mana Cost: 120 / 130 / 140 / 150
  • Cooldown: 60

Tombstone creates a tombstone that will spawn zombies next to nearby enemy units. You can't control the zombies, but they will automatically attack enemies. There are no limit for the amount of zombies that can be spawned, and if you place a Tombstone in the middle of a bunch of creeps and heroes, you can spawn a zombie army in an instant. It is a very powerful teamfight ability, but it can be destroyed by enemy attacks. You can heal the tombstone with Soul Rip, which can be quite useful since there are usually tons of zombies surrounding it.

Zombie
Health 30
Damage 37-45
Base Attack Time 1.6
Armor 0
Move Speed 375
Sight Range 1400
Attack Range 128
Abilities Passive: Deathlust - Slows enemies by 7% for 2.5 seconds with each attack. If the target's health drops below a certain threshold, the zombies gain 50% bonus attack and move speed.
Passive: Spell Immunity - Makes the zombie immune to magic.

Flesh Golem[edit]

Dota 2 undying flesh golem.png
  • Ability: No Target
  • Duration: 30
  • Movement Slow: 9%
  • Max Damage Amp: 20% / 25% / 30%
  • Min Damage Amp: 5% / 10% / 15%
  • Death Heal (Heroes): 6%
  • Death Heal (Creeps): 2%
  • Mana Cost: 100
  • Cooldown: 75
  • Scepter Max Damage Amp: 25% / 30% / 35%
  • Scepter Min Damage Amp: 10% / 15% / 20%
  • Scepter Death Heal (Heroes): 10%
  • Scepter Death Heal (Creeps): 3%

Flesh Golem transforms you into a giant abomination, giving you a Plaque Aura that affects enemies in a 750 unit radius around you. Enemies that are affected by Plaque Aura will get slowed and take additional damage from allied attacks. The closer an enemy is to you, the more the damage is amplified. Additionally, when a unit dies within the range of Plague Aura, you heal a percentage of their maximum hp for yourself. It is another good teamfight ability, letting your teammates have an easier time taking down enemy heroes. The self-heal will also come in handy when all sorts of attacks are being thrown out, as nearby dieing units will keep you alive.

Aghanim's Scepter can be bought by Undying and will increase the damage amplification of Plague Aura and the amount of health healed after killing a unit while in Flesh Golem.
