Kunkka is a melee strength hero who can be played as an initiator or a semi-carry. He is able to do a lot of burst damage to a wide area. He can lift his foes high up into the air, rendering them helpless with his Torrent. He can slice through entire armies with his Tidebringer. No enemy may escape once he pinpoints them with X Marks the Spot. His Ghost Ship will obliterate entire groups of enemies, coating his allies in empowering alcohol.

Abilities[edit]

Torrent[edit]

Dota 2 Torrent icon.png
  • Ability: Target Point
  • Damage Type: Magical
  • Damage: 120 / 180 / 240 / 300
  • Radius: 215
  • Slow: 35%
  • Slow Duration: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4
  • Stun Duration: 1.53
  • Delay: 1.6
  • Mana Cost: 120
  • Cooldown: 12

Torrent makes a large burst of water appear after a slight delay at the target area, launching enemies up into the air, dealing damage, stunning and slowing enemies. A very strong damage nuke, though you need some skill and prediction to hit a moving enemy. It is best used on an enemy who is already stunned, making it easier for you to hit them with Torrent.

Tidebringer[edit]

  • Ability: Passive
  • Damage Type: Physical
  • Damage Bonus: 15 / 30 / 45 / 60
  • Radius: 500 / 500 / 500 / 600
  • Cooldown: 13 / 10 / 7 / 4

Tidebringer gives you bonus damage and gives you a huge cleave effect in a cone-shaped area in front of you. With good positioning, you can kill entire creep waves in just a few strikes. The damage bonus is also very deadly, even more than what a Sacred Relic grants when at level 4.

X Marks the Spot[edit]

  • Ability: Target Unit
  • Affect: Heroes
  • Delay: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4
  • Range: 500 / 650 / 800 / 950
  • Mana Cost: 80
  • Cooldown: 13

X Marks the Spot places an X on where the targeted unit was when it was casted. After a while or if you activate Return, they will be teleported back to the X. A very powerful tool for controlling hero movements. Against enemies, you can use it to slow down their escape. Marking them when they are about to teleport to their fountain will still return them to the same spot. For allies, you can send a good initiator into the fray while marked so that they can safely return as soon as they perform the initiation. You can also send an ally who's teleporting back to the fountain to return to the spot after healing up or buying an item when team pushing.

Return[edit]

  • Mana Cost: 50
  • Cooldown: 5

Returns the marked hero to the X.

Ghostship[edit]

Dota 2 Ghostship icon.png
  • Ability: Target Point
  • Damage Type: Magical
  • Damage: 400 / 500 / 600
  • Stun Duration: 1.4
  • Bonus Speed: 10%
  • Buff Duration: 8
  • Mana Cost: 150 / 200 / 250
  • Cooldown: 60 / 50 / 40

Ghostship summons a massive ghost ship that will stun and damage enemies in its path as it crashes through. It will also douse allies in its path with Kunkka's Rum, granting increased movement speed and making them take only half damage until the duration ends, after which the remaining damage will be dealt. A very strong initiation ability that you can also use as a followup to a successful Torrent. The rum buff is also very useful for buffing your teammates up as the fight starts, as the halved damage and increased speed will help them survive and chase down enemies. Be careful you don't get too carried away because of the damage reduction, because even though the damage dealt when the duration ends cannot kill you, you might find yourselves in a bad situation with a lot less health suddenly.
