Shadow Fiend is a ranged agility hero that is usually played as a hard carry. His can become very powerful from stealing souls with his Necromastery. His Shadowraze lets him farm very easily while serving as a powerful nuke against enemy heroes. He can make his autoattacks more powerful with his Presence of the Dark Lord. His most scary asset is his Requiem of Souls, which can do huge damage across a wide area. Shadow Fiend is a hero that can recover from a bad start, but if he is killed too much he will be nothing more than an an achor dragging the team back.

Abilities[edit]

Shadowraze[edit]

Dota 2 sf shadowraze.png
  • Ability: No Target
  • Damage Type: Magical
  • Damage: 75 / 150 / 225 / 300
  • Range: 200
  • Mana Cost: 75
  • Cooldown: 10

Shadowraze is actually 3 skills in one, leveling one skill levels up all 3. It creates a blast of shadow in the direction you are facing, the distance from you depending on the skill variant. Most importantly, these 3 skills have separate cooldowns, meaning that you can use multiple Shadowrazes in one time. It has a decent radius letting you kill a bunch of creeps with one raze, letting you farm easily and safely as well as harassing the opposing laner. If you manage to land all 3 razes on a single target you can do an amazing amount of damage.

Necromastery[edit]

Dota 2 sf necromastery.png
  • Ability: Passive
  • Damage Per Soul: 2
  • Max Souls: 12 / 20 / 28 / 36

Necromastery lets you steal a soul for every creep you kill, 12 souls if you kill a hero, which grants you bonus damage for each soul. You lose half of your souls upon death. If you build up a collection of souls and don't die too much, you can dish out a lot of damage with your normal attacks. It also makes your ultimate, Requiem of Souls, stronger.

Presence of the Dark Lord[edit]

Dota 2 sf dark lord aura.png
  • Ability: Passive, Aura
  • Affects: Enemies
  • Reduction: 3 / 4 / 5 / 6
  • Radius: 900

Presence of the Dark Lord reduces the armor of all enemies in an area around you. The aura's radius is conveniently wider than your attack range, meaning that as long as you learn it you will always be reducing the armor of any enemy you can attack. It also helps your team do more damage, and softens enemy agility carries.

Requiem of Souls[edit]

Dota 2 sf requiem of souls.png
  • Ability: No Target
  • Damage Type: Magical
  • Damage: 80 / 120 / 160
  • Slow: 20%
  • Damage Reduction: 50%
  • Mana Cost: 150 / 175 / 200
  • Cooldown: 120 / 110 / 100

Requiem of Souls will cause a large burst of souls after a short cast time. For every two souls you get from Necromastery you will gain an additional wave of damage. Enemies hit by a wave will take damage, be slowed and have their damage reduced. The closer an enemy is to you, the more damage they take. It is very, very powerful, especially if you have a full collection of souls. Of course, your enemies will be prepared to disperse if you cast it, but if you can catch them by surprise you will have pretty much won the teamfight.

Requiem of Souls also have a passive effect if leveled. If Shadow Fiend dies, the souls you lose will be release similar to if you actually used Requiem of Souls, damaging, slowing and reducing the damage of enemies near where you died.
