Shadow Shaman is a ranged intelligence hero that is commonly played as a support and pusher. He has great crowd control abilities, being able to take an enemy out of the fight with his Hex or Shackles. Shadow Shaman is known to be a very powerful pusher. His Ether Shock can wipe out creep waves and his Mass Serpent Wards will melt a tower.

Abilities[edit]

Ether Shock[edit]

Dota 2 rhasta ether shock.png
  • Ability: Target Unit
  • Affects: Enemy Heroes
  • Damage Type: Magical
  • Damage: 140 / 200 / 260 / 320
  • Targets: 1 / 3 / 5 / 7
  • Mana Cost: 95 / 105 / 135 / 160
  • Cooldown: 8

Ether Shock lets you strike the target and other nearby enemies in a cone-shaped area. While it's very good for pushing creep waves, it can also do great damage to multiple heroes if you position yorself so they are in a cone-shaped area in front of you. With a cooldown of merely 8 seconds, it's quite spammable.

Hex[edit]

Dota 2 rhasta hex.png
  • Ability: Target Unit
  • Affects: Enemy Heroes
  • Duration: 1.25 / 2 / 2.75 / 3.5
  • Mana Cost: 110 / 140 / 170 / 200
  • Cooldown: 13

Hex will turn the targeted enemy into a harmless chicken, rendering them unable to cast abilities as well as slowing them down to minimum movement speed. A very potent disable, catching an enemy with it can mean death to the enemy if there are heroes nearby. Use it on important enemy heroes like carries during a teamfight.

Shackles[edit]

Dota 2 rhasta shackles.png
  • Ability: Channeled, Target Unit
  • Affects: Enemy Heroes
  • Damage Type: Magical
  • Damage: 40
  • Duration: 2.5 / 3.25 / 4 / 4.75
  • Mana Cost: 110 / 130 / 155 / 185
  • Cooldown: 16

Shackles will completely disable an enemy while dealing damage over time. Since it is channeled, you are also unable to do anything except keep channeling the spell. The damage is quite lackluster, so you'll want to have teammates nearby to take down the shackled enemy. Use it on enemy heroes your team will want to focus fire at quickly during teamfights.

Mass Serpent Wards[edit]

Dota 2 rhasta mass serpent wards.png
  • Ability: Target Point
  • Damage Type: Physical
  • Attack Damage: 43 / 58 / 73
  • Duration: 45
  • Scepter Attack Damage: 85-90 / 105-110 / 125-130
  • Mana Cost: 200 / 350 / 600
  • Cooldown: 110

Mass Serpent Wards creates 8 wards that will attack enemy units. They are magic immune and their attacks will do splash damage in a small area. The damage dealt by the wards are physical, which means it can be used to take down buildings, which it is quite commonly used to do. 8 wards doing 73 damage each for 45 seconds can do a lot of damage to a tower or a set of barracks if nothing is done about them. Since they are also magic immune, they can't be instantly destroyed by a single AoE spell, forcing the enemy to take them out one by one. A deadly technique that Shadow Shaman can use it to trap an enemy in the middle of the wards, preventing them from moving ang making them sitting ducks as your team and your wards start firing at them.

Aghanim's Scepter can be picked up by Shadow Shaman and will increase the damage of his wards.
