Necrolyte is a ranged intelligence hero who is usually played as a semi-carry or a support. He can release constant Death Pulses to damage and heal. With his Heartstopper Aura, everywhere he goes will be filled pain and suffering. He enjoys taking the lives of others, gaining increased restoration with Sadist everytime he kills someone. And if someone is close to death, his Reaper's Scythe will take their life swiftly.

Abilities[edit]

Death Pulse[edit]

Dota 2 necrolyte death pulse.png
  • Ability: No Target
  • Damage Type: Magical
  • Damage: 75 / 125 / 200 / 275
  • Radius: 475
  • Heal: 70 / 90 / 110 / 130
  • Mana Cost: 125 / 145 / 165 / 185
  • Cooldown: 8 / 7 / 6 / 5

Death Pulse sends out flying skulls at all nearby units, healing allies and damaging enemies. It has a short cooldown, so it's very spammable. You can use it in pushes to take out creep waves and in battle to keep your team healthy.

Heartstopper Aura[edit]

Dota 2 necrolyte heartstopper aura.png
  • Ability: Passive, Aura
  • Affects: Enemies
  • Damage Type: HP Removal
  • Radius: 1000
  • Decay: 0.6% / 0.9% / 1.2% / 1.5%

Heartstopper Aura will cause all nearby enemies to lose a percentage of their max health over time. The damage it deals is HP Removal damage, which will not remove effects that will otherwise be dispelled when taking damage, such as the heal from a Bottle. While the damage might seem minute, it does scale with the enemy hero's health, and it will slowly pile up, especially since affected enemies will not just take the aura damage alone.

Sadist[edit]

Dota 2 necrolyte sadist.png
  • Ability: Passive
  • Mana Regen: 2 / 4 / 6 / 10
  • HP Regen: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4
  • Duration: 6

Sadist increases your hp and mana regeneration for every enemy unit you kill, ten times that amount if it's a hero. It can be very useful while laning to let you survive harassment. It can also help you heal back up after a close fight with another hero that ended with a kill.

Reaper's Scythe[edit]

Dota 2 necrolyte reapers scythe.png
  • Ability: Target Unit
  • Affects: Enemy Heroes
  • Damage Type: Magical
  • Damage Per Missing HP: 0.4 / 0.6 / 0.9
  • Stun Duration: 1.25
  • Mana Cost: 175 / 340 / 500
  • Cooldown: 100 / 85 / 70
  • Scepter Damage Per Missing HP: 0.6 / 0.9 / 1.2
  • Scepter Mana Cost: 150 / 340 / 500
  • Scepter Cooldown: 70

Reaper's Scythe will pin the target hero down and deals damage for every point of hp the hero is missing. Obviously it's a good idea to use it for heroes low on hp to maximise its damage. Since the damage it deals is directly proportional to the amount of health lost, it can remain a strong threat to even the most durable heroes at higher levels.

Aghanim's Scepter can be bought by Necrolyte and will increase the damage dealt as well as decrease the mana cost at level 1 as well as decrease the cooldown at level 1 and 2. Heroes killed by it will also be unable to buyback.
