Shadow Demon is a ranged intelligence hero who is usually played as a support and pusher. He can banish an ally or foe with Disruption, taking them out of the battle as well as creating illusions. He can use Soul Catcher to amplify the amount of damage taken by a single enemy. He can use Shadow Poison to gradually rack up damage before releasing it, killing waves of creeps and wounding heroes. With his Demonic Purge, foes not only get positive buffs removed, they are also disabled as Shadow Demon's teammates take them down.

Abilities[edit]

Disruption[edit]

Dota 2 shadow demon disruption.png
  • Ability: Target Unit
  • Illusion Duration: 5 / 6 / 7 / 8
  • Illusion Bonus Damage Taken: 50%
  • Illusion Damage: 30% / 40% / 50% / 60%
  • Banish Duration: 2.5
  • Mana Cost: 120
  • Cooldown: 25 / 22 / 19 / 16

Disruption banishes the targeted unit, disabling it and making it invulnerable. When the unit returns, 2 illusions of the unit will be created. It's a very good harassing tool, as enemies wanting to last hit will end up getting disrupted. It can also be used to remove a dangerous threat out of battle temporarily or to save an ally. You can also cast it on a strong ally like your carry to get stronger illusions.

Soul Catcher[edit]

  • Ability: Target Point
  • Damage Type: Pure
  • Bonus Damage: 20% / 30% / 40% / 50%
  • Radius: 450
  • Duration: 12
  • Mana Cost: 50 / 60 / 70 / 80
  • Cooldown: 13

Soul Catcher causes a random enemy in the targeted area to take bonus damage when hit. The bonus damage dealt is pure, so it will ignore armor and magic resistance. Soul Catcher can still afflict enemies who are currently banished by Disruption. It is usually used after Disruption so that the enemy will have a higher chance of getting afflicted with Soul Catcher. Cast it on an enemy hero that your team will want to take down quickly.

Shadow Poison[edit]

  • Ability: Target Point
  • Damage Type: Magical
  • Damage: 50
  • Stack Damage: 20 / 35 / 50 / 65
  • Max Stacks To Multiply: 4
  • Radius: 180
  • Duration: 10
  • Mana Cost: 50
  • Cooldown: 2.75

Shadow Poison deals damage in a wave as well as poisoning all enemies it hits. The poison effect can be stacked up to 4 times. Each additional stack will add on stack damage when the poison is released. The stack damage will double every stack, up to 8 times the original stack damage. The poison can then be released manually with the sub-ability or automatically when the duration ends. It can not only affect lots of enemies but deal a lot of damage when stacked up. A great spell for pushing.

Shadow Poison Release[edit]

  • Ability: No Target
  • Cooldown: 1

Releases all instances of the poison to do damage. Units banished by Disruption can still be damaged by it.

Demonic Purge[edit]

Dota 2 shadow demon demonic purge.png
  • Ability: Target Unit
  • Affects: Enemy Heroes
  • Damage Type: Magical
  • Damage: 200 / 300 / 400
  • Duration: 5
  • Mana Cost: 200
  • Cooldown: 50

Demonic Purge will remove all positive buffs on the enemy unit as well as slowing it. The slow will gradually wear off, when it does the enemy will take damage. The slow makes a significant difference and the damage is not to be underestimated. If the enemy has a hero that is usually on the receiving end of buffs, or if you just want to slow a certain hero down, this ability will be great for doing that.
