Visage is a ranged intelligence hero who can be played as a support, a semi-carry or a ganker as well as being a major teamfight hero due to his balanced mix of abilities that lets him do high damage as well as making him more durable. His excellent strength and Gravekeeper's Cloak is what gives him great survivability, helping him survive large teamfights, though he does have only base 10% magic resistance compared to other heroes. Visage is also a deadly nuker during teamfights as he can spam Soul Assumption on enemy heroes, which gets stronger as more attacks are thrown around. His Grave Chill is a good disable and self-buff combined in one spell, making it difficult to chase or escape him. His ultimate, Summon Familiars, lets him command gargoyles to do more damage, as well as causing lots of trouble with Stone Form. Visage is a relatively advanced hero, due to his need for micromanagement and his odd abilities. In the right hands, he can be a huge threat in teamfights, as well as escape close brushes with death.

Abilities[edit]

Grave Chill[edit]

Dota 2 visage grave chill.png
  • Ability: Target Unit
  • Affects: Enemy Heroes
  • Duration: 3 / 4 / 5 / 6
  • Mana Cost: 100
  • Cooldown: 10

Grave Chill slows the target's movement speed by 32% and attack speed by 64%, gaining it for yourself. The disable and self-buff is considered as seperate effects, so removing one won't remove the other. It can be quite useful when chasing or when being chased, as you can gain more speed while slowing down your target. It is also useful against carries, letting you reduce their damage output while increasing yours, sometimes enough to sufficiently outduel them or at least buy you more time.

Soul Assumption[edit]

Dota 2 visage soul assumption.png
  • Ability: Target Unit
  • Affects: Enemy Heroes
  • Damage Type: Magical
  • Base Damage: 20
  • Soul Damage: 65
  • Damage Threshold: 110
  • Max Souls: 3 / 4 / 5 / 6
  • Soul Duration: 6
  • Assumption Radius: 1375
  • Mana Cost: 170 / 160 / 150 / 140
  • Cooldown: 4

Soul Assumption damages the target based on how many soul charges you have gained. You gain one charge once the damage taken by heroes, friend or foe, around you reaches a certain threshold. The amount of souls you have is visible in the form of a bar of black squares above you. The short duration of the souls mean that you can't just build up charges over time, which is also why it's more useful during teamfights. As lots of damage will be dealt out around you during large teamfights, you can easily accumulate a bunch of charges. With a cooldown of only 4 seconds, you can spam it in a teamfight to nuke down enemy heroes.

Gravekeeper's Cloak[edit]

Dota 2 visage gravekeepers cloak.png
  • Ability: Passive
  • Armor Per Layer: 1 / 2 / 4 / 5
  • Resist Per Layer: 3% / 6% / 12% / 16%
  • Max Layers: 4
  • Recovery Time: 12 / 10 / 8 / 6

Gravekeeper's Cloak passively gives you a several layers or protection that grants bonus armor and magic resistance. Taking damage from a player-based source will remove a layer, which takes time to regenerate. This ability, combined with your high strength, makes you quite durable. Although the cloak wears out with repeated attacks, it still grants you enough protection while it is active to let you escape your foe, or maybe fight back with a health advantage.

Summon Familiar[edit]

Dota 2 visage summon familiar.png
  • Ability: No Target
  • Mana Cost: 150
  • Cooldown: 180 / 160 / 140

Summon Familiar creates two familiars that you can control to fight for you, which lasts until they die or you resummon them. These familiars start out with 7 charges of bonus damage, each charge giving them 8 / 14 / 22 bonus damage. They will use up a charge with each attack and will regenerate a charge every 15 seconds after they're summoned. Familiars deal quite a lot of damage with full charges, which helps you to increase your damage output. Their Stone Form gives you a decent stun that slows enemies down for you to escape or catch up to them. They are quite fast, so landing a Stone Form stun shouldn't be too difficult. Note that familiars grant a lot of bounty when killed, so you want to avoid getting them killed by the enemy team. Good micromanagement and judgement of when you should use Stone Form is vital for utilizing familiars effectively.

Aghanim's Scepter can be bought by Visage and will make Summon Familiars summon 3 familiars.

Familiar
Health 300 / 450 / 600
Max Bonus Damage 56 / 98 / 154
Armor 0 / 1 / 2
Magic Resistance 96.25%
Speed 380 / 390 / 400
Attack Range 160
Bounty 100
Abilities Active: Stone Form - Turns into stone and crashes to the ground, stunning nearby enemies for 1 / 1.25 / 1.5 seconds and doing 60 / 100 / 140. In this form they're invulnerable and will regain health and charges very quickly. The Familiar will exit Stone Form after 8 seconds. Has a cooldown of 30 seconds.
