Entropia Universe economy is linked to the real world economy, by using a currency called the Entropia Universe Dollar (PED), which have a fixed exchange rate to the US Dollar (10 PED equals 1 USD).

PED is short cut of Entropia Universe Dollar.

Apparently the old name was "Project Entropia Dollar".

Entropia Universe Dollars (or PED) is the virtual currency in Entropia Universe. The fixed exchange rate is 10 PED = 1 US Dollar. Note that transaction fees may be added to your deposit or withdrawal depending on what option you choose for these transactions. PED comes from Project Entropia Dollar. Project Entropia was the original name of the game.
