Wild Card: Side Bets is a simple part of the main quest that leads to an independent New Vegas. Although simple, it is a long quest as you have to visit five locations and manipulate the factions residing there.

Completing this quest in combination with Wild Card: Change in Management is a point of no return, as you can no longer complete the main quests for other factions. If completed alone, it will activate two pseudo-quests: Don't Tread on the Bear!, and Beware the Wrath of Caesar!

To complete this quest, proceed to each of the five factions and either manipulate them or decide they can be ignored without completing their associated side quest.

Boomers[edit]

The Boomers are to the North East, inside Nellis Airforce Base. However, they will attack anyone who approaches with artillery.

To approach the base, you will need to use the high cover in the northeast corner of two buildings, and quickly move when there's a pause in firing. Characters with Lockpick 100 can instead find an old train tunnel, found half-way between Raul's Shack and the Brotherhood of Steel Safehouse.

Speaking with Mother Pearl is enough to complete the objective. Otherwise, complete Volare! to win their favor.

Brotherhood of Steel[edit]

The Brotherhood of Steel is found in the Hidden Valley, specifically in one of the bunkers. If you have Veronica with you, she can let you inside easily, otherwise you will have to complete the first section of Still in the Dark. Only speaking with Paladin Ramos is required to complete this objective. Otherwise:

  • You can convince the Brotherhood of Steel to ally with the NCR, if you continued along the NCR quest line and kept Elder McNamara. When you receive the objective to destroy the brotherhood, you can instead negotiate a truce (at the cost of minor NCR infamy)
  • You can destroy the bunker. You can pickpocket three keycards, or hack a terminal (100 science required) to activate the self destruct. Alternatively, you can kill all personnel within the bunker.

Great Khans[edit]

The Great Khans are found in Red Rock Canyon, to the left and behind Fiend territory. Visit and a quick question is enough to determine your opinion on them.

Normally, they'll fight alongside Caesar's Legion. To change that, complete Oh My Papa

Omertas[edit]

The Omertas are administering the Gomorrah, and simply talking to the greeter is enough to get a basic impression. They also have a plan to attack The Strip. You can help them or disrupt their plan in How Little We Know.

White Glove Society[edit]

The White Glove Society resides in the Ultra-Luxe casino. Speaking with one of the two leaders is enough to get a basic opinion about them, but they're keeping the cannibalism a secret. To fix that, Beyond the Beef.

Rewards[edit]

Aside from the simply 100 XP for completing the quest:

  • The quest causes infamy for Caesar's Legion. If you previously got a warning to Beware the Wrath of Caesar, the faction will become hostile.
  • If this quest and Fallout: New Vegas/Wild Card: Change in Management are completed, you will receive minor NCR infamy, and you will no longer be able to progress in the NCR main quest.
