A new addition to The After Years is the Age of the Moon (Japanese: 月齢 getsurei). With this, the moon's current phase is taken into account during battle, strengthening one ability while weakening another. When using the command list in battle, weakened moves will be displayed in red, while strengthened ones appear in green. The lunar phase may also cause different types of monsters to appear with differing frequency.
