Before visiting Macalania Woods, make sure you have paid of O'aka's debt if you allowed him on the Airship. Head to Lake Macalania, using whatever path you prefer. If you take the shimmering path, make sure to pick up the Gold Bracer along the way. If you take the tree path, you will find a chest at the top of the figure 8 path with a NuFrost Ring. The travel agency has been overrun with fiends and your help is needed to get rid of them. You must now defeat six sets of fiends without a break in between. Heal during easier battles to get through them all easier. After defeating all six sets, you will be awarded with the Pride of the Sword Garment Grid. The girls enter the shop and the Al Bhed will give the girls the Berserker Dressphere and an Al Bhed Primer. If you helped O'aka, there will be a scene where he tells the dying al bhed that he came to pay off his debt and he can't die yet. After the scene, go left and you will see a chest. If you go too far left, you will automatically be turned around and headed back toward the shop. So make sure you get as close as you can to it and then open it to get an X Potion. Now head down the path that leads into the woods, but before you reach it, O'aka will come out of the shop and vow to set up one of the best shops in Spira, which will become available during Chapter 5.
You can obtain a further Garment Grid if you found the 3 optional musicians in chapter 2. From O'aka's shop, head down to the Lake Road and take the upper right path into the Spring area. Speak to the band members here and one will mention they found a new friend, aww cute! Talk to this friend to receive the Howling Wind Garment Grid. Exit back to O'aka's shop where you will find a Save Sphere, board the Airship and move onto the next location.
