Ganbare Goemon 2 Stage 2 map.png

The second stage of the game takes place in the southern most region of Kyushu. Kyushu is the third biggest island of Japan and most southwesterly of its four main islands. It is composed of three primary sections, and a smaller fourth section which contains the exit. This is the first stage in which you are required to locate three passes in order to access the exit. Two of the passes can be found in the two hidden underground passages that tunnel between different sections, and the third can be found in a maze which you explore from a first person-perspective. Search every door you find, and buy a candle if you are having trouble finding the hidden entrances to the underground passages. Beware of a statue with a red scarf; striking it will send you to hell and force you to escape.

Section 1[edit]

Underground A[edit]

The first underground tunnel connects Sections 1 and 3. In it, not only will you find a Pass and some money, you will also find an extremely valuable package which will extend your health meter by four bars, from 8 to 12. Don't miss it!

Underground B[edit]

The second underground tunnel connects Sections 1 and 2. It's a little less interesting than the other tunnel; other than a Pass, all you'll find is some life restoring food.

Hell[edit]

You'll be sent here if you strike the statue with the red scarf near the middle of Section 2. All that you can do is run to the right in an effort to reach the exit without taking too much damage from the multitude of enemies that attack you on your way out. You must also avoid falling into any pits or lava.
