The game has several difficulty levels:
- Thou needeth a wet-nurse: Damage to the player is halved; there are less monsters and more pick-ups (depending on the map); ammo pick-ups contain 1,5 more "bullets"; Quartz Flask and Mystic Urn are used automatically when HP is low.
- Yellowbellies-r-us: There are less monsters and more pick-ups (depending on the map).
- Bringest them oneth: Medium difficulty setting.
- Thou art a smite-meister: There are more monsters and less pick-ups (depending on the map).
- Black plague possesses thee: There are more monsters and less pick-ups (depending on the map); ammo pick-ups contain 2 less "bullets"; enemies move and shoot 4 times faster; no cheat-codes allowed.
