Jersey Devil is a 3D platform game developed by Megatoon Studios for PlayStation. It was relased by Ocean Software in Europe in December 1997, by SCEA in North America in June 1998 and by Konami in Japan in June 1999. Another version of the game was relased for Windows by Infogrames in 1998. It was one of the first 3D platform game to be released, along with Croc: Legend of the Gobbos and Crash Bandicoot.
In this game, the player controls Jersey Devil (a purple bat-like creature) in his mission to stop the mad scientist Dr. Knarf, who has created an army of mutant vegetables, huge insects, and other monstrous creatures that terrorize the inhabitants of Jersey Town.

Plot[edit]

In the small Jersey Town, mad scientist Dr. Knarf is experimenting with plants to create his own army of mutated plants, insects and vegetables. One evening, as Knarf is about to vivisect a mutant eggplant, his assistant Dennis (a mutated humanoid pumpkin) brings him a small creature he has found, locked in a cage. This is the Jersey Devil, still an infant. Knarf immediately decides to vivisect him, but discovers that he has broken his last scalpel. Furious, he leaves the workshop to go and buy more. In the meantime, however, the little Jersey Devil manages to free himself and turns the laboratory upside down. When Knarf returns, the devil completely destroys the lab with a vial of nitroglycerin.

Many years later, Jersey Town has become a city and all the inhabitants are terrified of Dr. Knarf's creatures. It's up to the now grown up Jersey Devil to stop him.
