Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru

Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru (カエルの為に鐘は鳴る, Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru^? lit."For the Frog the Bell Tolls") is a video game title released for the Game Boy only in Japan on September 4, 1992. It was developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo. The title's feature is taken from Ernest Hemingway's novel For Whom the Bell Tolls, which in turn was named for John Donne's "Meditation XVII" of Devotions Upon Emergent Occasions. On November 30, 2001, a Game Boy Color remake titled Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru DX (カエルの為に鐘は鳴るＤＸ, lit."For the Frog the Bell Tolls DX"^?) was planned for release in February 2002, but was canceled due to the beginning of the Game Boy Advance era.
