First appearance: Konami Wai Wai World (cameos in many Konami games)
Abilities: Punching attack. Can fly if you possess the Konami Mantle.
Special weapon: Beam gun, one bullet per use. Beam stops when it hits an enemy.

Konami Man is the hero of Konami World. He is the one that everyone turns to when no one else can help. His mission is to restore balance and peace to Konami World. Although he has made several appearances as a support character in other games like The Goonies II and Getsu Fuuma Den, this is his first game with a starring role. His regular attack is a mighty punch, but if you obtain his beam gun, he will also be able to shoot enemies. If you recover the Konami Mantle, he will gain the ability to fly. With the Konami Mantle, no item is out of his reach.

First appearance: Konami Wai Wai World
Abilities: Kicking attack. Can fly if you possess the Konami Mantle.
Special weapon: Heat gun, one bullet per use. Bullet continues through enemies, but cannot be fired again until the original bullet leaves the screen.

Konami Lady is actually an android developed by Dr. Cinnamon to assist Konami Man in his dangerous quest to rescue the other heroes of Konami World. She has never appeared in any game before this one. Despite her cute appearance, she is quite strong and possesses a powerful kick. If you recover her heat gun, she can shoot beams that pass through enemies and keep going. She is also programmed with the ability to use the Konami Mantle, so she is capable of flight just like Konami Man.

First appearance: Ganbare Goemon! Karakuri Douchuu
Abilities: Attacks with a tobacco pipe that works well against high opponents. Can open the "?" chests.
Special weapon: Lucky cat coins, one bullet per use.

Goemon is very much like a Robin Hood figure of Feudal Japan; he primarily steals from the rich in order to give back to the poor and oppressed. Goemon is a very good hearted person with a strong sense of justice. He attacks with a tobacco pipe which he strikes upward above his head, making him very effective at hitting enemies that attack from above. If he obtains his Lucky Cat, he can also throw coins at enemies with deadly force. As a thief, he alone can open the "?" treasure chests which always have life-restoring big hearts inside of them.

Simon Belmont

First appearance: Castlevania
Abilities: His whip has excellent reach and works well against far-away opponents, but a slow rate of use.
Special weapon: Boomerang, five bullets per use. Up to three can be thrown at one time, and they come back to Simon. Can cause substantial damage.

Simon is a descendant of the legendary Belmont family, a family of fearless vampire hunters trained in the ways of the whip. He was captured by evil forces while investigating Dracula's unusually early reappearance in Castlevania. With his whip, Simon is capable of striking enemies which are a farther distance away than other players' ordinary attacks. However, his attacks are slower as a consequence. His cross-shaped boomerang is the most expensive special weapon in the game, at a cost of five bullets per use, but it is also one of the most effective. It flies forward and then returns to the location it was thrown from. It can strike enemies continuously, and up to three can be thrown at one time.

Fuuma

Konami Wai Wai World weapon shuriken.gif

First appearance: Getsu Fuuma Den
Abilities: Has a sword attack that is capable of breaking destroyable blocks.
Special weapon: Triple shuriken, three bullets per use. Capable of breaking destroyable blocks.

Getsu Fuuma is an agile and powerful swordsman, trained in mystical arts that allow him to wield his blade against the evil spirits that inhabit the underworld. So powerful is his Wave Sword that one slice can break solid rock and cause no dulling to the blade. His shuriken are equally capable of breaking stone, and he can throw three of them at one time (at a cost of three bullets per throw). The denizens of Hell think he is incapable of being jailed at any location, so the boss of his world personally guards a weakened Fuuma to prevent his escape. Fuuma's block cutting ability will come in handy on Easter Island especially.

Mikey

Konami Wai Wai World weapon sling shot.gif

First appearance: The Goonies, The Goonies II
Abilities: A kicking attack which can only be used while standing, not crouching. Small enough to walk through narrow passages.
Special weapon: Sling shot, one bullet per use.

Mikey is a member of the Goonies from the town of Goon Docks. Although he is one of the smaller members, he is also one of the most courageous, single handedly rescuing all the other Goonies, not once, but twice in his lifetime. As a result, he has earned much respect in Konami World. He has a descent kick, and if he is reunited with his slingshot, he can shoot at enemies from a good distance away. However, his major contribution to the team is his small stature, and the ability to sneak through small passages, like the one in the beginning of The Big City.

Moai

Konami Wai Wai World weapon power ring.gif

First appearance: Gradius
Abilities: Powerful head-butt attack that is stronger than most attacks and can break destroyable blocks.
Special weapon: Power ring, one bullet per use. High damage and capable of breaking destroyable blocks.

Little is known about the Moai. Although thought to originate from and be restricted to Easter Island, the Gradius force discovered thousands more of them put to use in outer space as a defense system by a malevolent being. This particular Moai has sprouted legs, and has gained mobility as a result. He has a devastating head-butt attack that is capable of crushing bricks. If he is reunited with the Power Ring, he gains the ability that other Moai have to fire destructive rings of energy from his mouth. This rings can also cut through blocks.

King Kong

First appearance: King Kong 2: Ikari no Megaton Punch
Abilities: Powerful fist attack that is stronger than most attacks. Higher than normal jumping ability.
Special weapon: Boulder toss, one bullet per use. High damage and capable of breaking destroyable blocks.

King Kong stumbled into Konami World when he was in search of his captured Lady Kong. After being reunited with her in The Big City, he stayed there until he himself was captured. You'll be glad you rescued him after witnessing his powerful fist attack, which is stronger than any of the other players' attacks, except for the Moai's head-butt. If he obtains his special weapon, he can hurl boulders at enemies a good distance away from him. His boulders can also break blocks. His other advantage is the ability to jump higher than any other player. This makes him especially useful for leaping over particular high ledges like the ones in Hell.

Note: The following characters are only in the 2006 Mobile remake of the game, and they replace Mikey and King Kong.

Upa

First appearance: Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa

Pentarou
