A short and rewarding mission. After completing "The Flame of Hope", return to the Village of Gato and enter the Items Shop. Here you will meet Niccolo again. Talk to him and he’ll tell you that he’s collecting Greenballs. He will ask you if you can go with him, to help him get through the dungeon. Agree to start this mission.
Exit Gato and head to the waterfall. You don't need to go through Gato's caves again, you can head straight to your destination if you want. However, accumulating experience never hurts. Once you arrive, Niccolo will start running around this area, collecting Greenballs. Talking to him is useless, so exit right and go back. After a while, a Faerie will appear in front of the waterfall. Talk to her and she will ask you what you are doing. Reply that you are waiting for Niccolo. Niccolo, who evidently cannot see the Faerie, will ask you what you are doing. Reply that you are talking to a Faerie. With this, your mission will end and you'll get your reward from Niccolo.
