You may notice there is no Game Over screen in this game; you can continue carrying on to the end no matter how badly you screw up. This leads to three possible endings depending on how well you do collecting the missing parts of Olimar's Ship

Sad ending[edit]

You get this ending if you reach the 30 day time limit before getting all 25 essential parts. Olimar is forced to take off and three sad looking Pikmin look on as he launches. The ship flies into the air, but runs out of power before it can escape the atmosphere. The ship falls back to earth and crashes, You then get your scores for the current playthrough and the list of parts you were able to collect. Then you see Pikmin carrying Olimar's body back to their onion where it is absorbed and turned into a single Pikmin seed. When it sprouts you can see it has Olimar's face, so he does live on only in Pikmin form.

Normal ending[edit]

You get this ending if you reach the 30 day time limit with all 25 essential parts, but still missing one or more of the 5 optional parts. Olimar is forced to take off and three sad looking Pikmin look on as he launches. The ship flies into the air, manages to escape the planet, and Olimar is seen piloting it homeward. You then get your scores for the current playthrough and the list of parts you were able to collect.

Happy ending[edit]

You get this ending if you collect all ship parts within the 30 day time limit. With his ship fully repaired, Olimar takes off for home while a group of happy Pikmin dance for him. As Olimar leaves, the Pikmin spot a bulborb and with the fighting skills they've learned they are easily able to defeat it. Meanwhile Olimar is seen piloting his ship homeward while a flotilla if different colored onions launches from the planet to see him off. You then get your scores for the current playthrough and the list of all the parts.

Roll call[edit]

After the final credits you get a roll call of the enemies encountered in the game, listed in alphabetical order.

Scores[edit]

The game tracks three scores on each playthrough. First the number of days needed to get all 30 parts or the number of parts you were able to collect if you ran out of time. Second the number of Pikmin surviving at the end of the game. And third, the number of Pikmin lost, but the game only tracks this one for playthroughs where you completed the ship.
