Pokémon Diamond and Pearl/Route 223

From StrategyWiki, the video game walkthrough and strategy guide wiki
Route 223
Route 223

Route 223 is the last route before you go up against Victory road and the Elite Four. It is a sea route, with lots of rocks along the way. The only trainers here are swimmers and one sailor. There are some items to pick up as well. At the end of a route is a waterfall that leads to the entrance of Victory Road and a Pokémon Center. If you have not defeated Volkner at the Sunyshore gym, you wont be able to climb the waterfall.

Items to get w/Waterfall[edit]

There are some items that you previously skipped because you didn't have/couldn't use Waterfall. If you want to get these items then it's recommended to do so before going on Route 223.

Route 208[edit]

Fly to Hearthome City and go west towards Mt. Coronet onto Route 208. Go past the Black Belt and down the stairs then surf east and go up the waterfall. At the end of this path is a Carbos

Items[edit]

  • Carbos - at the far west after the waterfall

Route 210[edit]

Fly fo Celestic Town and head east onto Route 210. There is water you can surf on just south of the two Ace Trainers who are following each other at the end of all the bridges. Surf west and at the fork go north then up the waterfall. On the wall in the northwest corner on the land is a hidden Meadow Plate. Go back down the waterfall and continue west going up the next waterfall and down the one after that. There is a small piece of land after the last waterfall with a Wave Incense on it.

Items[edit]

  • Meadow Plate(hidden) - in wall after the first waterfall
  • Wave Incense - on piece of land after third waterfall

Mt. Coronet 4F 2[edit]

4F 2
4F 2

Fly back to either Oreburgh City or Hearthome City and head into Mt. Coronet. Make your way to to the eastern entrance of 4F 1 and go up the Waterfall to get to 4F 2. On the lone rock here is a hidden Stone Plate. Use an Escape Rope to get out of Mt. Coronet quickly.

If you don't remember how to navigate Mt. Coronet then head to this Mt. Coronet page.

Items[edit]

  • Stone Plate(hidden) - on the lone rock in the room

Route 223[edit]

Head north of Sunyshore City and surf north on the water and you will be on Route 223. Continue surfing north and you will find Swimmer Miranda. Just north of Miranda is Swimmer Aubree. Surf a little northeast of Aubree and on a square rock is a hidden Big Pearl. Surf to the west side and continue north and just before the male Swimmer is a narrow passageway to the west. Take it and surf through the rocks and you will find TM18 Rain Dance. Head back to the male Swimmer who's name is Oscar and battle him. Continue north on the route to find Swimmers Colton and Paige. North of them is Swimmer Ricardo. Surf along the rocks to the west and you will find Swimmer Wesley. Surf east of Wesley to find Swimmer Crystal. Continue north and you will be on shallow water to walk on and Sailor Zachariah is here as well. Go to the right and up to find a Pearl. Go past Zachariah and surf west and walk north on the shallow water to get around the rock. After that, continue surfing north and you will find Swimmer Gabrielle. Swimming just northeast of Gabrielle is Swimmer Cassandra. Go southeast and surf along the rocks to find Swimmer Francisco. Go back north and you will eventually find Swimmer Troy. Continue north and you will need to climb a waterfall then you will see a Pokémon Center and the entrance to Victory Road.
