Sandgem Town is the second town you find on your journey. It is home to Professor Rowan, Dawn/Lucas, and Dawn's/Lucas's younger sister. Also found here are two things a beginning trainer will find essential; a Pokémon Center and a Poké Mart. Dawn/Lucas will show you around the town on your first visit, telling you to heal at the Pokémon Center free of charge, and to stock up on items at the Poké Mart, though you won't be able to buy much with your meager 
3,000.
Things To Do
- Talk to Dawn/Lucas
- Talk to Prof. Rowan inside the large house at the entrance of town to keep your starter Pokémon and receive a Pokédex.
- Do some shopping at the Poké Mart, if you want to.
- Say goodbye to your mother before leaving town.
Items
- Potion 2x: located by the flowers near the entrance to Lake Verity.You will also get a potion if you speak with the lady in the tall grass just before Sandgem Town.
- Antidote: located on the edge of the beach on the south side of Sandgem Town
- Pokédex: received from Prof. Rowan after talking with him

Moving On
If you try to leave Sandgem Town immediately, Dawn/Lucas will stop you in a grassy patch just outside of Sandgem Town, and demand you say goodbye to your mom before you leave on your journey. Do so, then come back to the same spot. Dawn/Lucas will give you a Pokémon catching tutorial and 5 Poké Balls; then you can go on your way.
