Once Popeye has reappeared on the deck of the "SS LUKE" ("SS TREV" in the Amiga version, and hereafter referred to as "the first ship"), you will have to walk to the right, and defuse a bomb; once you have done this, you will have to jump to the right onto the deck of the "SS HULLEY" ("SS ANDY" in the Amiga version, and hereafter referred to as "the second ship"), climb up its first mast to a platform and walk to the right to defuse another bomb. You will then have to walk back to the left, continue climbing up the mast to another platform and walk to the right to collect a can of spinach - and once you have done so, you shall have to walk back to the left and defuse a third bomb. You will then have to drop down to the left onto a third platform on the first ship, walk to the left (while watching out for a bouncing spring), and defuse two more bombs; once you have done so, you will have to retrace your steps back up to the third platform on the second ship (while watching out for a falling barrel), climb up its second mast to get up to a fourth platform, walk to the left (while watching out for another bouncing spring), and defuse a sixth bomb. You will then have to walk back to the right, continue climbing up the mast to a fifth platform, and walk to the left to defuse a seventh bomb - and once you have done so, you shall have to jump up to the left onto an eighth platform on the first ship (while watching out for another falling barrel), and defuse an eighth bomb. You shall now have to climb up the first ship's mast to a ninth platform, walk to the left and defuse a ninth bomb; once you've done so, you will have to walk back to the right, continue climbing up the mast to a tenth platform and walk to the right to defuse a tenth bomb as a Goon emerges from a pair of crates and another can of spinach bounces up from the bottom of the screen. Once Popeye has collected this can, you will have to make him punch this Goon repeatedly (once again, if he runs out of spinach power, another can shall bounce up from the bottom of the screen for him to collect). Once Popeye has punched the Goon enough times to defeat him, he will recede back into his crates, and the function of Space (or the button on the joystick) shall be reverted to jumping until the final encounter with Brutus.

You will then have to jump to the right onto the crates and back to the left onto an eleventh platform in turn to defuse an eleventh bomb; once you have done so, you will have to drop back down to the right onto the tenth platform, jump to the right onto a twelfth platform on the second ship, and defuse a twelfth bomb. You will then have to climb up the mast to a thirteenth platform, walk to the right and defuse a thirteenth bomb - and once you have done so, you will have to walk back to the left, continue climbing up the mast to a fourteenth platform, walk to the left (while watching out for a third bouncing spring), and defuse a fourteenth bomb. You'll then have to walk back to the right, continue climbing up the mast to a fifteenth platform, walk to the right and defuse a fifteenth bomb; once you've done so, you will have to jump up to the left onto a sixteenth platform on the first ship (while watching out for falling barrel), and defuse two more bombs. You'll then have to drop back down to the right onto the fifteenth platform on the second ship, climb up the mast to a seventeenth platform and walk to the right to defuse an eighteenth bomb - and once you have done so you will have to drop down to the left onto an eighteenth platform on the first ship, and defuse two more bombs. You'll then have to jump back up to the right onto that seventeenth platform on the second ship and climb up the mast to a nineteenth platform as a minimum third can of spinach bounces up from the bottom of the screen; once Popeye has collected this can, you'll have to jump to the left onto a twentieth platform on the first ship, walk to the left, and defuse a twenty-first bomb. You'll then have to walk back to the right, continue climbing up the mast to a twentieth platform, and walk to the left to defuse a twenty-second bomb - and once you've done so you shall have to walk back to the right (while watching out for a fourth bouncing spring), jump to the right onto a twenty-first platform on the second ship and punch Brutus repeatedly (once again, if Brutus hits Popeye with his club or he runs out of spinach power, a minimum fourth can of spinach shall bounce up from the bottom of the screen for him to collect). Once Popeye has punched Brutus enough times to defeat him (for a fourth and final time), he'll fall off the bottom of the screen yet again; Popeye will then walk up to Olive as a fourth heart appears between them, and the remaining value on the bonus timer (which yet again starts at 400 so its thousands digit is redundant) is added to your score unless it has run out - and it is also worth noting that for the Amiga version, that bonus timer's thousands digit is not redundant, because its value is increased to 1500.

In the 8-bit versions, the text "START TAPE" will now appear on the screen; once you've done so, the text "SEARCHING" will appear below it, followed by the flashing text "STOP TAPE" - and once you have stopped the tape, the screen will display a picture of Popeye in a porthole with his catchphrase, "I'M STRONG TO THE FINISH...'COS I EATS ME SPINACH!" below it. However, in the Amiga version, the text "WELL DONE" will be displayed on the game's loading screen, followed by a close-up of Popeye with his catchphrase to its right - and Popeye will return for Popeye 3: Wrestle Crazy in 1992.
