    • 10 loads of each: Clothing, Meat, Cheese
  • Time Frame: December 1941 06:00 - 15 December 1941 06:00 (4 days)
  • Scenario Type: scheduling, with fully pre-built non-modifiable rail infrastructure and uncrashable trains
  • Starting Position: One train of your choice between:
    • EP-2 Bipolar (electric) at Philadelphia, or
    • H-10 2-8-2 (steam) at Richmond
  • Restrictions:
    • No financial or economic elements
    • No buying or building of any kind
    • Time progresses slowly

Gold Medal[edit]

Scenario choices and the full schedule for each given locomotive are below.

Version 1.05 Only (Quicker)[edit]

  • Game Version Applicable: 1.05
  • Finishing game time: by 14 December 1941 00:30, 1 day 5 hours before the deadline of 15 December 1941 06:00
  • Assumptions:
    • Each type of cargo can be delivered in any proportion to any of the 2 ports.
    • Additional locomotives awarded after delivering 15 and 35 cargo cars total.

This is a much quicker walkthrough that is specifically tailored to version 1.05 of the game as this one relies on the relaxed scenario restrictions that were introduced in that version of delivering cargo in any proportions to any port, and additional locomotives being awarded as soon as a certain amount of cargo has been delivered, rather than at predefined game times.

Caboose: x = yes in the table below (i.e. always when the train has 7 cars or less).

Choice 1: The electric EP2 is my cup of tea (offered at the start of this Scenario)
Gives locomotive: EP-2 Bipolar near Philadelphia.

## City Pickup Cargo Caboose
1. Philadelphia 6 Meat, 2 Weapons
2. New York - x
3. Balitmore 5 Cheese, 3 Weapons
4. New York - x
New locomotive awarded, either:
  • Northern 4-8-4 near Pittsburgh - choose
  • (Pacific 4-6-2 near Charlottsville - pass)
5. Cumberland 2 Clothing x
6. Winchester 2 Clothing, 5 Weapons x
7. Norfolk - x
8. Roanoke 4 Cheese, 3 Meat x
9. Norfolk - x
10. Harrisonburg 6 Ammunition x
11. Norfolk - x

Choice 2: Northern located near Pittsburgh (offered after delivering 15 cargo cars total)
Gives locomotive: Northern 4-8-4 near Pittsburgh.

## City Pickup Cargo Caboose
1. Pittsburgh 1 Ammunition, 1 Cheese, 1 Meat, 5 Weapons
2. New York - x
3. Allentown 4 Ammunition x
4. New York - x
5. Washington 4 Ammunition x
6. Dale City 4 Ammunition, 3 Diesel x
7. Norfolk - x
8. Danville 6 Diesel x
9. Norfolk - x

Choice 3: New GG1 near Harrisburg (offered after delivering 35 cargo cars total)
Gives locomotive: GG1 near Harrisburg.

## City Pickup Cargo Caboose
1. Salisbury 6 Diesel x
2. Norfolk - x
3. Lynchburg 7 Clothing x
4. Norfolk - x
5. Lynchburg 1 Clothing x
6. Norfolk - x

Note that it is also possible to pickup at 3. Lynchburg 8 Clothing which is riskier (no caboose), but may allow this train to finish faster. However this won't make a difference, since either way the last train to arrive in the schedule is not this train, but rather 2nd train, Northern 4-8-4.

Any Version (Slower)[edit]

  • Game Version Applicable: any up to and including 1.05
  • Finishing game time: by 15 December 1941 04:00, 2 hours before the deadline of 15 December 1941 06:00
  • Assumptions:
    • Each type of cargo has to be delivered to the same port.
    • New locomotives awarded at specific game times (see below).

Note that for the more recent patch 1.05, the Scenario conditions have been considerably relaxed, as detailed in the previous section. This walkthrough however still assumes the stricter restrictions present in this Scenario in the game before version 1.05, and so this can be useful in case a player happens to have an older version of the game. This walkthrough can be used with any game version, as it still achieves Gold even with the newer 1.05 game version, albeit more than a day later than the previous one above that is tailored specifically to version 1.05.
