Jill and Chris both start with the Combat Knife in their inventories, but the knife is an extremely weak weapon. Jill has a slight advantage over Chris in the beginning of the game since she also has a Beretta M92FS in her inventory, but Chris can find a Beretta M92FS shortly after. There are seven weapons in Biohazard (nine in the PC version), some of which you must find throughout the game. Each weapon takes up one inventory slot, so you can carry all seven weapons in the game if you really wanted to. You can of course, store weapons in the item box to save inventory space, and if you die, you have to go back to your last save point and start with the inventory you had at that point in time (so if you saved before getting the Colt Python, but die after you get it, you'll have to go back to that save point before getting the Colt Python).

Combat Knife[edit]

Combat Knife
  • Game description: "This doesn't seem to be enough for this mission."
  • Characters who receive this weapon: Chris and Jill (all versions)
  • Ammo type: N/A
  • Capacity: N/A
  • Power: Very low (Original and Director's Cut), Medium (Rebirth)
  • Best used against: Crows, miniature spiders, zombies, and Cerberus (while they're on the ground)
  • Found in: Inventory screen (Jill and Chris- all versions)

The game description sure was right. The Combat Knife is the weakest weapon in the entire game and should only be used on smaller enemies or when you run out of ammo. It is somewhat useful when you have to save ammo against simple enemies like zombies, but other than that, the Combat Knife should go straight into the Item Box and kept there for the rest of the game. However, in Rebirth mode, the power of the knife is almost doubled, and is twice as effective as it is in other versions. You can effectively use the Combat Knife against zombies by stabbing them once, retreating, and then stabbing them again. The knife is also recommended for Cerberus, but only after they're on the ground, as stabbing them this way saves a lot of ammo and time.

Beretta M92FS[edit]

Beretta M92FS
  • Game description: "Beretta M92FS Automatic loaded with 9mm bullets." (Original, Rebirth) or "Beretta M92FS Custom Edition loaded with 9mm bullets." (Director's Cut)
  • Characters who receive this weapon: Chris, Jill (all versions)
  • Ammo type: Clip (Original, Director's Cut), Handgun Bullets (Rebirth)
  • Capacity: 15 rounds
  • Power: Low
  • Best used against: Zombies and Cerberus
  • Found in: Inventory screen (Jill- all versions), on the floor and next to the red carpet in the Main Hall 1F upon returning from the Dining Room 1F (Chris- all versions)

The Beretta M92FS is your basic handgun and will most likely be your most used weapon throughout the Mansion. This weapon is best used at long ranges against weaker enemies like zombies and Cerberus, but it should also be used against those annoying crows in Rebirth mode. Other than those types of enemies, the Beretta is virtually useless and definitely shouldn't be used against Hunters or bosses. Instead of the original Beretta M92FS, Director's Cut players will start with a Custom Edition, which has a random chance of getting an instant kill against any enemy (except bosses). The chance is rather low but can seriously save you in those tricky situations. The gun uses standard 9mm bullets found in Clips (Original and Director's Cut) or in Handgun Bullet magazines (Rebirth) and can hold a maximum capacity of 15 rounds. Beretta ammo is common and can be found just about anywhere throughout the game, so you'll most likely be using it a lot (you can carry a maximum of 250 Beretta rounds in your inventory). Oddly, even though the weapon is the same, the number of bullets needed to defeat the zombies differs depending on whether you are playing Jill or Chris. While in Jill's game it typically takes 4 to 6 bullets, in Chris's game it can also take 8 or 9.

Remington M870[edit]

Remington M870
  • Game description: "Remington M870. A pump-action shotgun."
  • Characters who receive this weapon: Chris, Jill (all versions)
  • Ammo type: Shotgun Shells
  • Capacity: 7 shells
  • Power: High (close range), low (long range)
  • Best used against: Zombies, Cerberus, and Hunters (only sometimes)
  • Found in: Mansion's Living Room display (Jill- all versions), Mansion's Living Room display - Shotgun must be replaced with the Broken Shotgun (Chris- all versions)

The Remington M870 will be your first powerful weapon in the game and will eventually replace the Beretta M92FS as your main weapon throughout the adventure. You'll find it in the Mansion's Living Room on the display (if you're playing as Chris, don't forget to replace it with the Broken Shotgun). It is best used at close range, as it is much less accurate at longer distances against Cerberus or Hunters. Both enemies only need two to four shotgun shells and they'll be down for good. One of the best features of the Remington is that it can kill a zombie instantly by decapitating it. Simply let the zombie come near you, aim upwards, and shoot. To effectively use the Remington, always go for headshots with zombies, and always try to shoot the Cerberus as soon as they jump (since it may only take one shell to put them down). As for Hunters, make sure you're not too close or too far away (you'll want to be about four character lengths away). Shoot the Hunter once, wait for it to get back up, shoot it again, and repeat this until it is finally dead. The Remington M870 uses standard shotgun shells found in boxes of seven. Shotgun ammo is pretty common and it will be rather hard to run out of ammo for it (Chris will find more ammo for the Remington since Jill has the Bazooka). Rebirth players will notice that a large abundance of shells will be in their item box from the start (you can carry a maximum of 250 Shotgun Shells in your inventory).

Bazooka[edit]

Bazooka
  • Game description: "A launcher that can be loaded with various rounds."
  • Characters who receive this weapon: Jill (all versions)
  • Ammo type: Explosive Rounds, Acid Rounds, and Flame Rounds
  • Capacity: 6 rounds
  • Power: Medium (Explosive Rounds), medium (Flame Rounds), high (Acid Rounds)
  • Best used against: Yawn, Tyrant, and Hunters (Acid Rounds), Cerberus, spiders, Black Tiger, and Plant 42 (Flame Rounds), zombies (use sparingly) and Cerberus (Explosive Rounds)
  • Found in: Terrace - in front of the corpse (Jill - all versions), N/A (Chris- all versions)

This bad boy is a Jill-only weapon and is extremely powerful against every type of enemy in the game. It is recommended that you only use the Bazooka against bosses and Hunters, as there isn't a whole lot of ammo for it throughout the game. You'll find it on the Terrace near the corpse (the corpse will come alive in Director's Cut and Rebirth modes, so be careful). It is primarily a medium to long range weapon, but can be used at close range when you're in trouble. Don't fire from an extremely long distance because the grenades travel in a downwards arc once you shoot it. Only one grenade is fired when you shoot, and the Bazooka must be depleted before you reload another type of ammo. Explosive Rounds are the most common ammo, with Acid Rounds being the most rare, so make sure you save those Acid Rounds for boss fights and Hunters. All types of ammunition are found in cases of 6 (you can carry up to 250 rounds of each type of ammo).

Ingram Mac 10[edit]

Ingram Mac 10
  • Game description: "Fully automatic Ingram Mac 10."
  • Characters who receive this weapon: Jill (PC only)
  • Ammo type: Clip
  • Capacity: Infinite
  • Power: Medium
  • Best used against: Zombies, Cerberus, spiders, and Hunters
  • Found in: Inventory screen once you beat the game under three hours and start a new game (Jill- PC only), N/A (Chris- all versions)

The Ingram Mac 10 is moderately powerful weapon received when you beat the game in under three hours. It is a Jill-only weapon (although Chris receives a weapon just as powerful). Once you start shooting the Ingram, stand back! This thing can rip through anything in a matter of seconds. At any type of range, this weapon still delivers, but to be more accurate, try shooting in short bursts. The Ingram Mac 10 will have infinite ammunition once you receive it, so fire at will! The gun uses standard 9mm rounds found in Clips (you can carry a maximum of 250 9mm rounds in your inventory).

Minimi[edit]

Minimi
  • Game description: "Fully automatic Minimi."
  • Characters who receive this weapon: Chris (PC only)
  • Ammo type: Clip
  • Capacity: Infinite
  • Power: Medium
  • Best used against: Zombies, Cerberus, spiders, and Hunters
  • Found in: Inventory screen once you beat the game under three hours and start a new game (Chris- PC only), N/A (Jill- all versions)

The Minimi is a Chris-only weapon that is fully automatic and starts with infinite bullets! Talk about a dream. Before getting this weapon, however, you must beat the game in under three hours. Like the Ingram Mac 10, the Minimi can seriously kill anything in under five seconds. It fires perfectly fine at any range but is best fired in short bursts like the Ingram to ensure accuracy. This machine gun uses standard 9mm rounds found in Clips (you can carry a maximum of 250 9mm rounds in your inventory).

Colt Python[edit]

Colt Python
  • Game description: "Powerful gun that can be loaded with .357 magnum rounds."
  • Characters who receive this weapon: Chris, Jill (all versions)
  • Ammo type: Magnum Rounds
  • Capacity: 6 rounds
  • Power: High
  • Best used against: Hunters, Chimera, and Tyrant
  • Found in: Tiger Statue Room- after placing the Red Jewel inside the statue (Jill and Chris- Original, Rebirth), Vacant Room- found on the brown shelf in the corner (Jill and Chris- Director's Cut)

The Python is the second most powerful weapon in the game, right next to the Rocket Launcher. It only takes one shot to kill almost any enemy (except bosses and Hunters) and knock them back a few feet. The firepower in this weapon is tremendous, but the ammo for it is rarely found. It is strongly advised that you only use the Colt Python against bosses and Hunters. Always aim the best you can (or use the auto-aim feature found in the Director's Cut and Rebirth versions) before firing, because you do not want to be wasting Magnum Rounds. Don't bother shooting Chimeras with the Python when they're on the ceiling, because you'll most certaintly waste ammo. Only shoot the Chimeras when they're on the ground (although it's just much easier to run away from them). Also, try not to waste Magnum Rounds on weaker enemies such as zombies and Cerberus, since a well-placed shotgun shell is more effective for them. The Colt Python holds a chamber of six Magnum Rounds which are found in containers of six (you can carry a maximum amount of 250 Magnum Rounds in your inventory). If you beat the Director's Cut version in Arrange/Advanced mode with the best ending, you'll receive a Colt Python with infinite ammo.

Flamethrower[edit]

Flamethrower
  • Game description: "Can throw flames for 9 sec. with max. fuel."
  • Characters who receive this weapon: Chris (all versions)
  • Ammo type: Flamethrower fuel
  • Capacity: 250% fuel
  • Power: Low
  • Best used against: Spiders and Black Tiger
  • Found in: Mansion Basement Passage A (Chris- Rebirth), Underground Y-Shaped Passage (Chris- all versions), N/A (Jill- all versions)

The Flamethrower is a Chris-only weapon and is one of the worst weapons in the game, right next to the Combat Knife. You may think it's powerful, but it's nowhere near capable. In Rebirth mode players will find the Flamethrower in the corner of the second corridor, which then has to be placed onto a display to unlock the Kitchen door. All versions of Biohazard will find the Flamethrower next to the entryway door in the Underground's Y-Shaped Passage, and when it's taken, the entryway door will automatically be locked. The Flamethrower can only fire at close range since the flames only travel two character lengths away. As the description says, the flames will only last for about nine seconds, so this weapon is not even worth the time. It will take about four seconds of flames to kill one zombie, but the enemy that's really weak against the Flamethrower is the spider. Spiders only take about two seconds of straight flames to kill, so it is strongly advised you only use the Flamethrower against spiders, especially the Black Tiger. Save most of the Flamethrower ammo for the Black Tiger, as it will make the boss fight that much easier. Do not use this weapon on Hunters, as you'll be slashed to bits in seconds. The Flamethrower holds a 250% fuel capacity, but no other ammo for it can be found in the game.

Rocket Launcher[edit]

Rocket Launcher
  • Game description: "One shot can destroy any target."
  • Characters who receive this weapon: Chris, Jill (all versions)
  • Ammo type: Rockets
  • Capacity: 4 rockets (or infinite once unlocked)
  • Power: Extremely high
  • Best used against: Any type of enemy (except Hunters since the Rocket Launcher is too slow)
  • Found in: Lab Heliport (Jill and Chris- all versions), inventory screen after beating the game in under three hours (Jill and Chris- all versions)

The Rocket Launcher is the most powerful weapon in the game, and as the description says, can kill anything in one hit (yes, even bosses). The Rocket Launcher will be dropped for you to use in the Lab Heliport against the final boss. This initial Rocket Launcher, however, only has four rockets inside, so try not to miss. If you beat the game in under three hours (regardless of which ending you received), you'll find an infinite launcher in your inventory when you load a new game. This weapon can be used against any enemy and will destroy them in seconds. It is advised that you don't use it against Hunters, especially at close range. The Rocket Launcher you receive at the end of the game only holds four rockets, but the one you receive after beating the game in under three hours has an infinite capacity. There's no other ammo for the Rocket Launcher that can be found in the game.
